: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Once Valkris was out of sight, he reached down and knocked the man out cold.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Tyra stayed focus on Cole, whoever was behind her would be dealt with later. One flying tackle later she was on top of Cole and pinning him to the ground. She was in a foul mood “Just stop struggling.” She said in his ear “I will not hurt you…but keep struggling and I will find a way to break every bone in your body.” She said

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Dawson slowly creeped up to behind Valkris, observing the whole scene as he slowly made his way. What a crazy predicament he had managed to get himself into! All in the name of curiosity. He would remember this, and remind himself that sometime curiosity really did kill the cat…or other cats. Either way!
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : -Dawson
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Cole yelled when his figure crumbled under Tyra’s tackle. He wasn’t about to go down without a fight as he tried to shove her off, his arms jerked at her grip and tried to crawl away. Up ahead came the sounds of footsteps drawing closer. Slowly figures began to emerge from the dim light as they were heading toward the struggle.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Just get off me you-,” Cole began to insult her, only to have it drowned out by his crew.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : He twisted toward the sounds then opened his mouth to shout for help. If he wasn’t silenced, an already bad situation was going to get worse causing his comrades to find them quicker. There was no way to tell if they were armed or not by their silhouettes alone. All Tyra could likely tell from the sounds and shapes was their number was double than Valkris, Dawson and herself. Possibly more.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Valkris shortly came into view from behind Tyra, followed by Dawson. The half Klingon had her phaser out and trained on Cole while she looked ahead.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : She inhaled sharply, “There’s too many. If I engage into a fire fight here, there’s no way of telling if we’ll come out on top or end up being killed.”
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : It was pointless to state the obvious. The Security officer’s eyes looked at the tunnel side, noticing the branch off. She jerked her head toward it, suggesting they use it. If anyone argued, she was more than happy to drag them down there.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Head down the side tunnel, if they can’t find us… they can’t kill us or threaten any animals,” she pointed out, holding her position until both Tyra and Dawson headed down the tunnel.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : With one last punch to Cole’s jaw, Tyra growled and headed down the branch leaving Cole where he was on the ground “Worthless piece of human flesh.” She muttered once they were far enough away “What do you suggest we do now?” She asked the two with her “We’re in this deep and we need someone else to help us out before this gets further out of hand than it already is.” She said realizing that her hand was bleeding again.

: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : Valkris frowned at Tyra’s display but said nothing. The men were already drawing closer by the sounds of their footsteps getting louder and their shadows darted across the dim light, lengthening with their closing distance. Her grip tightened about her weapon as she slowly trailed in after her companions. When she caught Tyra’s question, Valkris wasn’t sure how to answer it. Things looked bleak. Thankfully, Dawson pointed out the only thing they could do.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Dawson also followed her instructions and ducked down the indicated tunnel. “We’re getting nowhere for now. We’ll need to wait and hope that they think we left out of the tunnel we came through. The other man was knocked out cold, so he likely won’t be able to verify anything.”
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : He looked to Valkris for her input.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : -Dawson
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : The security officer nodded then spoke in a hushed tone, “Dawson’s right. Without a map we’re only going to get lost trying to find our way out.”
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Tyra also looked at Valkris “We have enough data from the computers that we can show what has been happening to the animals.” She said “However we need to catch these men in the act of taking the animals.” She said quietly to avoid detection. She was frustrated and her hand was throbbing.

: : : : : : : : : : : : “I have a feeling that may be easier said than done, especially since they know there’s been a security breach,” Dawson stated aloud.

: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : “I agree. I doubt they will move them right now while looking for us,” Valkris said. The sounds of footsteps drew closer, the men shouting for answers and seeking those responsible. For several moments Valkris thought they were about to be found when the steps stopped nearest the tunnel. Her chambered drove the blood into her ears where it pounded loudly. For several moments, the men lingered just inches from the tunnel entrance before they abruptly moved down the way Valkris, Tyra and Dawson had originally entered. Eventually, they faded altogether.
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : Valkris exhaled in relief then spoke, “We can’t wait here too long. Dawson, can you and Tyra see how far this tunnel goes? It might lead back outside or somewhere. I’ll stay here and if they see me, I’ll lead them on a chase away from you.”
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : They had only managed to slip partway down the tunnel, just enough to hid from view. At the end of the tunnel was a small bar gate resting beside an aged console. Possibly something left behind and used by the engineers that once performed maintenance down here.

: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : Tyra looked around them and began and found a terminal in the tunnel they were in. She moved over and booted it up. And then wiped off the screen and cleared it from dust and made a note to herself that this terminal needed to be updated. “I have part of a map, but it won’t help us get out of here. We’re going to have to go to the hatch that everyone else came in.” Tyra said as the terminal showed a partial map.

: : : : : : : : : : : OOC:
: : : : : : : : : : : Tyra-
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : The console is very old and outdated (4 years or more), which it’s a surprise it’s still functional at all. When accessed, it has only part of the map that she could get and shows a hidden way out through some maintenance tunnels far from the direction of the smugglers. Later, she might be able to put together an accurate map using information from the history records over this place. Located at a public library on the planet.
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : Dawson-
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : If you look at the gate, you’ll notice it’s rusted shut. Even if you broke the lock, it won’t budge so the only way past is through it. Some of the bars on the door are loose and with muscling, can be removed creating a small gap that will allow all three of you through it.
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : Also, I hate having my days all messed up. >,<

: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : OOC: I’m sure its not fun getting out of sync. I definitely can relate! :P
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : IC: Dawson looked over the gate while Tyra did her magic on the console. He wasn’t an engineer, for certain. But being the muscle of most encounters did have its advantages. The gate was rusted and likely hard to get through. As he slowly made his way across it, looking over its strengths and weaknesses, he noticed a few bars a bit loose. He glanced behind them, hoping nobody was near enough to hear.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : He quickly grabbed hold of one bar attempted to pull it out. Once he managed to do so, he tried 2 more next to it. “I have a way out!” he said gesturing to the small hole he created in the gate.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : He then made his way back down the corridor to Valkris to let her know about his new escape.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : -Dawson
: : : : : : : Valkris nodded, acknowledging the fact. She just considered what to do when she heard screeching from the bars. Her hands pressed down over her ears, attempting to pry them loose. Thankfully the noise was limited to the local area instead of echoing down the tunnel. Valkris didn’t question the logic of it all as she noticed him make his way back.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : “Coming,” Valkris said as she followed him, “Tyra is this exit on the map? Do you know where it leads? As much as I want to see if we can make it back to the hatch, sometimes tells me we will risk capture. Are you sure there’s no other way out or back?”
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : Tyra nodded “It’s an old maintenance shaft. It will probabaly lead us to the surface, but I can’t be sure.” She said as she moved over to where Valkris and Dawson were.
: : : : : :
: : : : : : : The removed bars made a gap big enough for all of them, though it might be a tight squeeze through. Faded lights were located farther down the path indicating a possible exit to the surface. When Tyra examined the fragmented map, she would note it was an old maintenance shaft that was blocked off. There was no evidence the smugglers even knew about it or considered it something to worry about. The bars, with a little cooperation and attention to detail, could be placed back. Like a hidden entrance into the smuggler’s lair.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : –Ensign Valkris MacLaren, Sec
: : : : : :
: : : : : : She helped move the bars so that they could get through and suggested “We should put them back as we leave, just in case.”

: : : : :
: : : : : Dawson ushered the two women through. “I’ll bend them back while you guys go ahead. I’ll catch up once I’m finished.” he replied to them both, ready to ensure that nobody would follow them. Dawson was strong, so bending them back likely wouldn’t take much effort on his part.
: : : : :
: : : : : “Let’s just hope this map is our saving grace,” he stated as they left.
: : : : :
: : : : : -Dawson
: : : :
: : : : Tyra shrugged “I don’t know that it is going to be our saving grace, but it might get us close to an exit that we can use.” She said still wondering exactly how they were going to explain this and stop it. “They have to have some one on the platform that is helping them as well.” She said as they moved forward “That would be the only way to get them off the OED.” She said.

: OOC: Putting this on hold until the Exodus move, purely as I’ve kept forgetting and I’m having issues keeping up with while saving the Characters sheets, IC/OC threads, and ensuring everything is able to be transferred over without any issue. I will resume this afterwards, so please be patient with me and stay tune!

Dawson nodded in agreement to Tyra’s statement. There certainly could be more investigating needed once they were out. Mentally he was preparing for it, even though he was technically a civilian. Then again, he was used to being involved in such things. His experience with security matters was top of the line.
Dawson followed as they tried to find their exit.
