Molly hadn’t been the one to set up the meeting. In fact, Dominique Bruner, the company’s Chief Operations Officer had been the one that had originally requested it and who had been scheduled to attend it. More than anything it was a formality, and one that Bruner had considered Molly shouldn’t worry about with everything else going on.Yet, with both Calvin and Lucas awake and stable, Molly had personally changed the arrangement. A change in scenery would do her good, and going back to a more active part of her job would take her mind off of the many worries and concerns still running through it.
Still, she hadn’t dared going back home, preferring instead to ask the Mannings if they had a spare room she could use. A request to which the couple promptly acquiesced, scolding her for even asking.
The shower had felt like heaven, only topped by the fact that when she returned to the bedroom she was greeted by a plate of freshly baked scones that had been left on the coffee table. Molly smiled softly. Amelia surely knew how to treat her guests.
Replicating a fresh set of clothes, Holloway took a moment to enjoy a scone and review her notes before leaving back to the center of town.
Molly Holloway was a striking figure. She was easily recognizable on the street by her bright red hair tightly held up in a ballerina bun and the long coat that she seemed to almost always wear these days. After the protests, it was even easier for the people of OED to identify her as she walked by, and for glances to be aimed and fingers to be pointed in her direction. She hated every moment of it, even though in her stoic facade she seemed not to care. Still, she refused to be driven around in a company car, insisting on traveling by her own means, whether that meant using the public system or walking.
Which was why, at exactly 11:25am, the CEO of Holloway Heavy Industries was walking up the front steps of the Government Building, headed to the front desk.
“Good morning.” Molly said with a smile to the front desk employee on duty. “My name is Molly Holloway and I have a meeting with Governor Hyrushi at 11h30.” Even though she had met the man in charge of OED before, she was by far not as familiar with him as her uncle was, with Lucas being the one participating on the meetings most of the time. “Do you mind telling me how to get to his office?”

“Top floor, after you’ve passed through security screening,” the Xyrillian man said. “You’ll need your visitor’s pass at sSecurity and in the lift to access the Governor’s floor, which I’ll code right now. Hold on,” he said as he signed in Holloway and confirmed she was cleared to be there. He handed her the chip she’d need to scan and directed her to the dual security station that would allow people access beyond that to the lifts.
Molly nodded in understanding, waiting for the man to do his job. “Thank you.” She smiled grabbing the chip and turning to the security area she had been pointed to.
Those that worked in the building bypassed Reception and proceeded right to security which was a seemingly simple screening device they stepped over after swiping their credentials. No one came and went from the building without being in the system in one way or another and thus when something wasn’t right, a line up could for. Today that was made worse because the second security station was down for maintenance.
Approaching past Reception and eyeing the line was Lieutenant Governor Dasca. Her raven and silver streaked hair was up in a twist at the back of her head and she adjusted a bag on her shoulder impatiently as she eyed the delay with her hazel eyes. She was accompanied by a taller and younger man with auburn hair and beard and piercing slate blue eyes. “Seriously? They haven’t gotten this fixed yet?” she said with a sigh. “When’s my next meeting?”
“Five minutes,” the man said.
“Great,” Eela said flatly as they joined the line. She took a steadying breath. She hated being rushed from one meeting to the next. It put her in the wrong headspace and she was still in Meet ‘n Greet mode with everyone. Best foot forward and all that. “I’m tempted to tell them I know a few Starfleet engineers who could probably help them along.”
The man snorted. “You would too, wouldn’t you?”
“I only said I was tempted. I’d prefer not to draw on that target more clearly,” Dasca said, clearly amused.
OOC: Hope you don’t mind me crashing the thread. I figure every government building needs interesting or potentially awkward lift ride scenes, haha.

OOC: Not at all! In fact, as Molly has yet to meet our new Lieutenant Governor, I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t hoping she’d make an appearance! :p – Joana

Getting in line behind the pair, Molly looked at her wrist chronometer and then back at the security stations. With a sigh, she tried to come to terms with the fact that she was likely going to be late, and that there was nothing that she could do about it. Looking at her chronometer one more time, Holloway tapped her foot impatiently. If she had known, she’d have arrived earlier so that she’d have enough time to get through the security screening. With trained eyes, Molly observed the people in the lobby, and her ears picked up loose snippets of conversations. She didn’t like large crowds, especially in government buildings, and even less after the recent events. The wait made her feel uneasy.
With another impatient sigh, soft enough that only she could hear it, Holloway’s eyes landed on the pair in front of her. Somehow the woman seemed familiar, but she couldn’t quite place her. Despite her not having left Sacred Heart for over a week, Molly felt like she had seen her recently. Had it been on the news? Maybe one of the news anchors? Her mind drew a blank.
The line moved as another person got cleared through the checkpoint. Molly looked at her chronometer yet again, the numbers closing in on the time of her meeting.
“Excuse me.” Holloway addressed the dark haired woman and her blue eyed companion next to her in line. “Do you know how long it usually take to get through security? I’m just trying to figure out how late I’m going to be…”

The woman turned and her hazel eyes took in Molly intently, a look of of recognition passing through them. The sharp angled ridges over her brows marked her instantly as Haliian. “Normally, it’s seconds but this is the third time they been down to one station and I haven’t ben here all that long.”
“You’re Molly Holloway,” the woman said, offering her hand. “Eela Dasca, the new Lieutenant Governor, who is also now running late and whose guests probably beat her to her own office.”
Dasca gestured to the man beside her. “This is my Executive Assistant, Cort Belanger.”
Cort offered Molly a smile. “A pleasure, Ma’am.”
“Who are you meeting with?” Eela asked Holloway.
