Scrolling back through his previous assignments, she followed a hunch and checked to see where C’thol and Ans’lik had served together. If the situation forming was what she thought it might be then she might actually laugh aloud at the ridiculousness of it all.

There was no commonality in assignments between them… but they had been roommates at the Academy their entire tenure there.

So friends, okay. Not unusual, but enough to call in a favour later? She felt close to something and there was a slight tingle at the base of her skull. Dasca leaned forward slightly as she tried to pull up more details about who issued the arrest warrant from Starbase 1. Someone had to have issued it with the intention of subverting the chain of command on Oed.

The order came from Lieutenant Commander Jackson Hyde in Security. A quick correlation check would show that Hyde was also roommates with C’thol and Ans’lik at the Academy. In fact, there had been four all together, not unusual for entering Cadets; but the fourth, Lieutenant Commander Dreen, had requested not only a change of room two weeks into the term, he had then asked to be placed back to the next entering class when those requests were denied (also not unusual)… which meant he had been willing to wait six standard months to start his training just to change rooms.

Dasca could only follow where the evidence led. She brought up Dreen’s file to see what their career looked like and to find out where they were now. She had questions and they might have answers.

Lieutenant Commander Dreen was a geologist specializing in subsurface destabilization and ground shifting. He had a very good record, many Commendations from as high up as the Federation Science Council, and was a Daystrom Award winner. He was currently assigned to Federation Colonial Development as a visiting consultant of something called ‘Project Haven’t.

Eela drummed her fingers on her desk, breathing in and out a few times before she went ahead and did the thing she already knew she would: she placed the call. Securely, of course. The last thing she needed was someone catching on to her investigation before she was ready, though she also knew that the incident at the embassy probably already did that anyway. Still, precautions were necessary. She knew the call might take awhile (if she could even get through and the commander was even in the office), so she got up and moved around, stretching her back a bit before getting a coffee from the replicator in her office and retaking her seat.
