STAR FLEET SECURITY OPEN (EVERYONE)

OOC: So I figured I’d open to Star Fleet on complaints, and then we can do some scenarios, etc.... Hope you enjoy my first post.)

Tyrell made his way around the Star-Fleet section of the city, looking at his surroundings. Being security, his sense of safety is his priority for not only himself, but his team, Star-Fleet in general, and of course the people of OED V. He had a few hours to kill before he had to head to his office, however, that time is up and he stands in front of Star Fleet Security.

Walking in, he sees the receptionist, talking with a citizen, who, if he overheard correctly, wanted to see someone about a theft at a local shop. The man seemed pretty distraught, as Decker was surveying the situation. The receptionist, a civilian herself, assured the man that Star-Fleet is willing to help, but if he would take a seat, she would have an officer be right with him.

The man nodded, and he sat. Decker could see that he was shaken up. Decker went up to the man, and assured the man.

“Don’t you worry sir,” Decker said. “Everything will be ok.”

The man looked up at Decker, and for some reason, the man seemed more calm, and the receptionist noticed.

Decker went up to the lady, who had a smile on her face.

“Thanks,” she said.

“No problem,” said Decker. “He seemed pretty shook up.”

“Well, Mr. Simmons here is always in here reporting trouble,” she said. “But we can’t pursue due to lack of…” She stopped mid-sentence. “We just can’t.”

“Lack of evidence?” said Decker. The receptionist looked at him and shook her head no.

“To be honest, it’s more like lack of staff,” she said. “We have very little officers here to do pretty much anything. We use the façade of helping, without helping, because we lost our last Head of Security for some reason. Just ended up and left.”

“Really?” said Decker.

“Yeah, so now we have a new Head of Star-Fleet Security headed here,” she said “and from what we’ve been told, it isn’t any better.”

“How so?” he asked.

“From what has been told, he used to be a Major, and a lawyer from Jag,” she said. “But aboard his other ship, something went down with the CO, he was ordered to arrest the CO, or something like that, and apparently it was a big mess. I believe punching his XO is what did him in with the marines, and he joined Star-Fleet as Lieutenant, and was offered this position…as punishment, or so we were told.”

“Just to be fair,” he said. “The Major was following orders. And he wasn’t reprimanded for the incident in the lightest. Turns out the Admiral had it out for the CO, and he chose to act. The major ended up helping his friend, who in turned helped him. Yes, the Major punched out the XO, only because he was sleeping with the CO’s wife. Being that he was a major in the Marines, and transitioned from JAG to a Commission in Star Fleet, comes with a demotion, but not in a punishment way. His friend the CO, made sure of it.”

“Wait, how do you know all this?” said the lady. “That’s got to be classified.”

“Well, I have Top Secret Clearance,” he said “so yeah, it is.”

“Who are you again?” she asked.

“I’m Tyrell Decker,” he said. “Lieutenant Tyrell Decker, Head of Star Fleet Security on OED V.”, he said with a smile. “And you are?”

The lady had a shocked look on her face, but soon came back to reality.

“Uh…I’m Lyssa Kent sir. Your…um….secretary and receptionist.” She said straightening up her clothes, and desk area. “Welcome to OED sir. We weren’t expecting you for another 48 hours.”

“Unfortunately, things change, and so here I am.”, said Decker.

“Well sir,” said Lyssa. “Let me show you around.”

“First Lyssa, if you will for me, please escort Mr. Simmons into my ready room,” he said to her. “I’d like to have a word with him.

“Yes Lieutenant.” She said as she’s getting up. She walks over to Mr. Simmons and talks to him for a second, and he gets up and follows her. Decker also follows, and as he walks through to the back, he looks at the layout of Office.

Several empty desks fill out the big middle of the space. To his right, he sees where his investigation rooms and holding cells are, in the middle, a big office with a long table and chairs around it, definitely his conference room, and to the left of that, what looks to be his office.

He follows in Mr. Simmons and Lyssa into the Ready Room, which is attached to both his office and the holding area.

“Mr. Simmons, thank you for being patient. Would you care for something to drink? A coffee perhaps?”

Simmons nodded, and Decker went to the replicator located on the wall. He asked for 2 coffees, and they appeared in the replicator, cups and all. Decker grabs them and walks them over to the table, placing Mr. Simmons cup in front of him. Decker sits down, 2 seats from the old man, giving him a little space, but just enough. He tells the computer to lock the conference room down, and explains to Simmons it’s for privacy. No interuptions.

“Now Mr. Simmons,” said Decker. “Can you tell me why you’re here? I just want to clarify what you told Ms. Kent”

“Yes, I….uh….well,” Simmons starts to say. “My security alarms and cameras were messed with, and I didn’t catch who came into my building and robbed me blind.”

“What kind of business do you do Mr. Simmons?” Decker asked.

“I’m sort of a jeweler,” said Simmons. “I deal with on and off world Jewelry.”

Decker listened very carefully, and watched like a hawk.

“Ok, so, when did this happen?” he asked.

“I’m not quite sure,” said Simmons still looking nervous and twiddling his thumbs together. “I went to bed about 8pm. My quarters are upstairs, and when I came down to open up at 10 am, and I could see that there was damage to my locking mechanism, and noticed that a very expensive jewel that was on display from off world, was missing. I came here immediately.”

His speech started to quicken as he finished talking. Decker could tell he was hiding something, but wasn’t for sure what. He was recording everything on his PaDD, and after the statement, Decker put PaDD down.

“Ok Mr. Simmons, thank you for your time.”, he said. “I’ll convene with this information, come by and do a thorough investigation, and get back to you.”

He shook his hands, and escorted him out of the conference room, and out of security. Decker looks at him as he looks at Lyssa.

“Mr. Simmons is hiding more than we thought. “, he said to her. “I don’t know exactly what, but I will find out.”
