Though her excitement deflated at his mention of ‘security’, Mirembe welcomed the opportunity to acquaint Commissioner Karlson. Terraforming was a hop, skip and a long shot from law enforcement, but she suspected the distance wasn’t so great on Oed. “Well, I’ve never been one to turn down a friendly conversation.” Mirembe shot him a jovial grin and lifted a hand briefly to the holographic menu, “a person’s taste in coffee says a lot about them. Care to start there? My treat.” Too stubborn to admit her self-inflicted lethargy, M’Ahar used caffeine as an icebreaker and ‘pick-me-up’. It was a win-win… for her and the unlucky person on the receiving end of her fatigue-induced snarkiness.

Joseph inclined his head “Usually I simply drink regular black coffee but I find it defeats the purpose of visiting a cafe, ordering something so bland. I’ll have a Macchiato, please and thank you” He said and signed with a smile.

Commisioner Karlson

“A quality dark roast can outshine any foo-foo drink on the menu, but it has to be done right.” Mirembe experienced the privilege of a well-balanced, nutty roast a handful of times. But, she recalled the warmth produced by those fragrant, flavourful cups with near-perfect clarity. They were art. “We’ll take a macchiato and an almond milk latte, please.” Mirembe requested upon approaching the Barista. Heartbeats later, she returned to Karlson. “So… what exactly does this security detail entail?”

Joseph smiled a grandfatherly smile “It depends entirely on your preferences. During official or public events, you’ll have two guards with you at all times much like most of the Cabinet. Your home will be surveilled and guarded as well. These guards are not Oed Police but a Federation affiliated Private Security service contracted by the Oed Government. Each official is assigned a team that rotates security. For day-to-day, you don’t need security but I do recommend having one as your driver” He shrugged “For myself only have a single visible guard day-to-day as my driver”
