Davivica nodded and smiled. “Sir, rest assured that this will be handled according to your wishes. I may new at realty, but I grew up on Codos VII. If you know the place, you will know what I am saying.” and she inclined her head and walked to the door. “I will call a taxi. The car will take you where you need to go to get your funds. I will see you at the bank in an hour.” and she walked out.
VonnThe visor remained locked on her as she left and the Vonn said “I know a few people on Codos VII… never knew anyone who lived long enough to actually leave. That is… something.”
Eryn stayed at the back of the house, being the strange eccentric artist she was supposed to be. She was going to have to get started on some pieces very soon. After Davivica left she reappeared next to Kodek. “Well that was certainly fun. Codos VII? That explains a lot.” She took another look around from where she was standing, “Well they both need some work, but let’s get the woman paid. Do you think the cold storage at Presidio will get cold enough for you for the moment?” She walked out the door and straight to the car, no need to give up the pretense in front of a driver that might like to gossip. The driver took them near enough to the safe house without being there. He was instructed to wait while Vonn and Eryn walked the rest of the way. And as unhappy as he was about it the car was still there when they returned and then went to the bank to meet Davivica and obtain the keys to their properties.
Eryn
“No, it won’t be. But it will make for the basis of a good bolt-hole for emergencies.” the voice said as they took one last look around. They rode in silence and walked to the safe house. Inside, Vonn pulled away a section of wall and pulled out a crate that seemed very familiar to Eryn. It was from her shuttle… the one now in billions of pieces scattered across who knew how large of an area… the one that had her ‘emergency funds’. The helmet swiveled and if it could have smiled, she knew it would have. “My payment for your extraction.” and then there was sound unlike any that had issued from the helmet before; a grating, rasping, disconcerting sound.
Vonn was laughing.
Eryn stared at the crate and then at Vonn as laughter began to bubble up. Well that was another first for her, she was sure when it came to her Breen companion. “I always knew I loved your practical side. But really you found the money but couldn’t grab my weapons?”
They opened the crate and in a matter of moments the contents disappeared into belt pouches, gauntlets, hidden pockets, and even under the disruptor in it’s holster. Vonn tossed several small bags at Eryn’s feet. “Consider it a refund… since we are friends.” and they stood up and walked out towards the car.
Eryn shook her head, that suit was really something, and had more hidden spaces than a Ferengi hiding latinum from the FCA. It was too bad her experience with a suit was wiped clean from being unconscious and near death. She scooped up the bags and took one of the heftier ones and slipped it away and then tossed the rest back to him. “Consider it hazard pay… since we are friends.” Then she followed him out of the safe house and back towards the car.
Inside they rode for half an hour in silence, arriving at the front door of the Colonial Bank and Trust. Outside, Davivica stood with a an older Human male in a very nice suit. The voice said “Facial recognition says that is Gerald Holk, Senior Partner of Durik Realty. I would imagine he is trying to ascertain if all of this is a hoax and trying to punch holes in our purchase… or poach us from our new associate.” and the helmet swiveled to look at Eryn. “Oh, I do so enjoy putting pompous air-bags in their place.” and the door opened and they stepped out and offered Eryn a hand.

Eryn rubbed her hands together in glee. “Now I did not agree to vork vith anyone but Davivica. Zhis shall be a problem.” Eryn took his hand and stepped out of the car and stopped. Now the thing was Eryn was an eccentric artist, but she never made a point of hiding her spy work either. On Ukraniania Novya and the other places she had been there was no need. So there was always an edge to her. But this new twist with Vonn was fun. In the pause Eryn looked around as if seeing the colony in a way no one else possibly could. Her gaze landed on Davivica with possibly a small smirk of recognition and then it snapped to the man next to her. Eryn’s gaze raked the man up and down and the disapproval and anger rolling off of her was palitable. She turned to Vonn and in a string of nonsense that could only be curses she pointed at the man. Then she marched him down gave him another once over and snatched a tie clasp off the man. “And zhis! Zhe ultimate insult. Inferior metal!” She obviously expected Vonn to do something about it.
Eryn
The helmet inclined in acquiescence, and Vonn held out a gauntleted hand for the offending accessory. As Eryn laid it in their hand, vonn walked up to the man and the visor looked down at him. With a slowness that made all onlookers uneasy, the hand sloooooowwwwwwwly turned over and the tie clasp fell to the ground… only to be covered by the armored boot of the Breen. Shrcrunch came the sound as the clasp was ground slowly, thoroughly, and inevitably into the pavement.
The voice said slowly and deliberately “My employer will deal with Ms. Davivica and Ms. Davivica only. We do not know you. Go. Away.”
To his credit, Gerald Holk didn’t flinch (much). “Well that is problematic.” he said with a smirk. “For purchases of this magnitude you will need my approva-” and his smirk and response was cut off by an armored hand grasping him by his shirt front and tie and the attached arm lifting him off the ground over a foot so he was eye-to visor with the Breen.
“Do you know what I am?” the voice asked in a tenor that boded nothing good. The man stammered “I-I-I-I-I-I-” and the arm raised him higher. “DO. YOU. KNOW. WHAT. I. AM?!” the voice said louder and louder and shook the man with each word. “BREEN!” the man cried. “Do you know what we do when we are crossed?! Do you?!?!” and the man nodded vigorously, his eyes bulging and his face turning red. The Breen slowly lowered him to the ground and said then armored hands straightened out the man’s shirt and tie gently making sure he appeared none the worse for wear. “Excellent. Then you know why my employer hired me. Now then… if my employer says we only work with Davivica… we only work with Davivica. I am sure that her success has a way of finding it’s way to your own accounts, so we will simply bypass the formalities and you, my good sir, will ensure that Davivica is always available for us. And she will be promoted to Senior Partner today. My employer wanted her to have a particular office, but I think she won’t mind me countermanding that request. She gets your office. I’m sure you will find that reasonable and doable, yes?” The man’s eyes bulged even more and he began to speak; but Vonn stepped close and looked down at him.
A puddle appeared on the ground, although there was no rain planned for the day.
“Um… yes, sir. I think that would be most appropriate for her new found success. And I will ensure all inquiries regarding you and your employer are handled only by Ms. Haley-Smythe.” The helmet slowly nodded and the voice said “Excellent. Now then… ” and a bar of gold-pressed latinum appeared in the same hand that had held the man aloft. “Here. A token of appreciation for your understanding and support of Ms. Haley-Smythe. You will, I’m sure, ensure that office treats her with the respect and dignity owed someone of her talents and abilities, yes?” A slow nod and the man then half-composed himself. “Yes… of course, sir. It will be handled. Now if you will excuse me, I seem to have spilled my drink.” Vonn stepped back and allowed the man his dignity. “People can be so rude, jostling past others like that sir. Why don’t you go change and then allow me to treat you and and a guest to dinner. Russian Tea Room. Seven o’clock. There will be a reservation for you. Good day, sir.” and the Breen turned and looked at Eryn and Davivica. “We have business to conclude, yes?” and gestured to the bank.
