Mostly Eryn would prefer furnished so there would be fewer people in an out of the house, but ‘artist Eryn’ wouldn’t be so paranoid. “Let’s set that in motion now. If you are wiling to access it. Citadel Holdings Bank, account number 28987380. Authorization Romanov Omege 591. You can then send the financial background statement to the realtor.” Eryn wasn’t too worried about using that particular account. The money there was only deposits for her artwork. It wouldn’t lead anywhere else.“Financing isn’t an issue. We will figure that out as we go.” Vonn replied cryptically.
A wry smile crossed her face. “Ov course it is not, but it does allow Eryn to become more established on Oed.”
She picked up the tea and savored it for several moments. “Before the realtor gets here, what do you think of Mr. James?”
Eryn
Von was still and silent as their meals were set before them. Once the bartender had left, they replied “I think he is capable in the field, but whether or not he is able to lead is a wholly different matter. I have to say his approach and style of recruiting leaves much to be desired so far. But the proposal is… intriguing.”
Vonn
“It is and it’s steady vork, vhich we don’t really need, but work is good. I agree skill vise he is adept. He managed to by pass zhe security system. His method of approach leaves something to be desired. He feels like he needs to prove himself. Good recruiting techniques are a sign of a good leader, but zhat doesn’t mean he won’t be. He’s never had to be. My biggest concern is three people wanted by intel or section in one spot is not advantageous to staying hidden.”
Eryn
Vonn was again silent a moment before speaking. They leaned forward and said “James said he was told about us by the Governor. I had just worked for him. What if…” and there was a long pause where the visor seemed to stare at her, “… what if that is Hyrushi’s idea? To not hide us? Or James? At least… not from those looking. What if, and this is a large what if… what if he is daring Intel to overstep? While this is a colony with ties to Staf Fleet; there is a great deal of underlying resentment towards the Fleet and the Federation here. And Hyrushi did have dealings with the Maquis. What if he is daring them to try something? Something that will give him cause to go against them directly?” and they leaned back.

Eryn set down her fork where she had been about to take a bite of the meal. She considered, quiet for a long time. She stared back through the visor, the image of the eyes behind it very clear in her mind’s eye. “Then Kodek, I would have to ask you if you trust this man with our lives because that is what he is gambling. I’m trained for the games he’s playing, it was an every day occurrence for me. But I didn’t die in an explosion to let someone gamble at doing it again. Then I would ask you, if that is what he is doing, do you want to go through with it? You said he has the means to provide us with security from such situations. I also wonder who is calling the shots then? James or Hyrushi?” Were the hands working together or against each other?
Eryn
Vonn picked up a frosted metal cube from the tray and moved it up and under the front of the visor. There was a hiss of escaping cold air and then a click. Vonn was silent for a long time. After several minutes, they reached up and took the cube away. “I trust one person, and one person alone. That being said… I think the game the Governor is playing is one of very high risk… but with potential rewards that are quite desirable for both of us. And if what we are discussing turns out to be the fact… and we could be wrong… but if it is the case; then we have much more to gain than we have to lose. From my perspective, that is.” and they lifted another cube and attached it.

Eryn nodded, “Zhis is all true. Vith high risk comes high reward. Perhaps it is time to find out vhat zhe governor’s goal is and who ve are working for. Hyrushi or James. I have no doubt we can do vhat they vant. For however long we decide to stay here, vorking for them would be advantageous. I have no real objections. Though James seems very unsure of himself.” She held her hands, palms up, “But then most agency directors are and cover it vith bluster and threats.” The Côtelette à la Kiev was excellent, a truly luxurious meal. It was so much better than hard rations, and she had to agree with Vonn that they had earned some comfort and ease.
Eryn
Vonn leaned back and crossed their arms on their chest. “And how do you intend to find out that answer? Asking nicely of our potential employer… or perhaps his employer?” Vonn asked. It was near impossible to tell, but there may have been a hint of amusement in the synthesized voice.
Vonn
“As you told James, I am zhe spy. You’re zhe blunt object. Finesse my dear Kodek. Finesse, observation, research, and polite conversation. I certainly vill not be threatening anyone. But I think perhaps his employer. He is zhe vild card here. The unknown or at least to my perspective. From vhat I have gathered from you and James, though, I get the impression he vould be very disappointed if I did not introduce myself. He is probably expecting it.”
