Come right on in when you get here, se told her husband before looking to Xavier. Ylana sighed. “While I would love to oblige, Sir, the data rod no longer is functional. As it turns out, it didn’t contain information so much as a copy of an AI program. I was able to interact with the program for awhile before it decompiled too far to function. I have quite a bit of info I learned though, and I learned where I might be able to find more.”

Xavier said nothing at first.

“Ok then debrief us on that. Also Longstreet lets get that box opened now. I want all the answers to the mysteries solved now.” Xavier said showing a little impatience.

Longstreet nodded and checked the decryption efforts on the box.

Michael had shown up at this point, only to find someone else who looked strikingly similar to him, save the borg implants. His eyes lit up, unaware that the alien had chosen him as its form to carry.

“Lt. Governor Xavier, this is clearly not me,” he said, pointing to his double, Archanon.

Xavier nodded in response. It was somewhat odd for him too but he had grown used to seeing Archanon in this shape.

Archanon bowed. “I am sorry for causing a disturbance. You’re wife seems to be quite receptive to your image. That is why I, Archanon of Kalidon, have chosen this form. It was not my intent to scare her or anyone else away.”

“Be as that may, it’s rather unnerving,” Ylana said flatly.

The real Michael Halloway was a bit stunned. He waited for replies from either his wife or his Lt. Governor to explain what exactly was going on. Aside from being told about the possible alien intrusion on Oed, Halloway had been left in the dark up until now about who Archanon was.

“Governor we have just now put some pieces together. Unfprtunately we did not have enough actionable data to make decisions. We think we do now. That is why we have now just only included you. Plus we were not sure of the safety of the situation and did not want to risk your exposure to things.” Xavier said knowing the Governor probably was wondering why he was just now being informed.

Glancing between Michael and Parker, Ylana reviewed her tidbit said so far. “The rod that I was given contained a computer program, a copy of an AI. It, she, more or less functioned as an interactive database, but the program had a limited operational time before it basically decompiled entirely and was no longer functional.”

She then moved through the office to stand before Archanon, trying her best to remember that he was not her husband. It certainly did help that her actual husband was in the room. “Where you ever going to mention that this whole thing was a family dispute, or did you simply think that detail wasn’t important? Because I don’t know how it works on Kalidon, but in my personal experience with family politics and the distribution of power, conflicts tend to not go away just because one person gets to have the control.”

She looked over at the others. “Leamas is in fact a member of Archanon’s family and is not only angry aboutnot getting the leadership of the royal family that they are, but also for his imprisonment for bad behaviour.” She knew the situation was more complex and nuanced than that, but it was a place to start the conversation.
