Demolitions…wonderful…that was not her strength…she listened as he laid out the specifics of the security system. Alright so she was not leaving the flat. The way her luck was going she’d limp too much or not enough, change her gait and blow herself up. No she wasn’t that careless and she was letting her bad humor have too much say. She inclined her head to him, Vonn was right. “But I am grateful, Kodek, that you are my friend. I wasn’t ready to die yet.” Taking the water with her, she went into the bedroom and closed the door. The rustle of the bag being moved and opened, then two slight ‘pop hiss’ as she administered the meds. Almost silent foot falls could be heard as she moved slowly around the room, getting familiar, and then the soft squeak of the mattress. The disrupter went nearby with in easy reach, and then with rapidity born from years of necessity she was asleep.Eryn Romanov
It was a opening of the door that sounded more than anything. Then the light footsteps on the floor, not the heavy armored boots of a Breen suit. “Are you awake?” said a voice from the other room. It was familiar, but not known.
The doctor… or rather… the vet. “Vonn told me to check on you. I won’t come in unless you say it’s okay.”
The Doc
Eryn woke, not moving a muscle at the sound of the strange foot steps. The only thing that stopped her from shooting the door at the person standing outside of it was Kodek’s assurances about the security system. And he’d warned her the doctor…the veterinarian was going to check on her. She rolled to sitting, biting back a curse. Oh she was sore. The walk from his clinic to here should not have made her that tired or sore or ache. A month? She was in bad shape. She slid her hand off the disruptor and in a slightly Russian accented voice, “Yep, come in. It’s alright.”

Teh door opened and the man stood just outside. “Tricorder and some meds is all I have on me, okay?” he said a bit warily before making his way into the room. He moved… slowly… to the bedside and said “Just gonna runa scan.” and he opened the tricorder and began running tests.
Eryn nodded. The man’s body language was easy enough to read. So was his mind, but that was always a tricky thing. And Eryn had no immediate recollection of what had happened before she woke up on his table. It would come, she wasn’t worried about that. Her mind just needed to wake up enough. “Please proceed, doctor.” She wasn’t going to go prone, but she sat on the edge of the bed and let him run his scan. He was nervous, but then she was sure that she and Vonn made quite a sight. She hadn’t exactly been pleasant when she’d woken up the day before.
Nodding after a few beeps, he said “Just hold still. Won’t take too long.” and he glanced at her and smiled slightly. “So… you one of the Breen’s little projects? Or is all this-” and he gestured at her entire body, “- it’s work and they’re still trying to get something outta you?”
The Vet
Oh now wasn’t that interesting. He thought she was Kodek’s property or prisoner of some sort. She had absolutely no idea what Vonn had told the doctor, but if she was now Eryn she had better lean into it. Sitting perfectly still for him the right corner of her mouth quirked the start of a smile in response to his own. “Zis? No zis is vhat happens vhen you don’t carry your veight during a job. He makes sure you don’t forget ve lesson.”

The scan stopped and the vet looked at her quizzically and then grinned and continued. “Uh huh… suuuure. And did you know you I could hear you when you were in my O-R? Yeah… no accent then. Funny… must be a side effect of the meds.” and he chuckled softly.
The Vet
Eryn grinned and shrugged. “Nervous habit, reminds me of my mother, or vhen I’m tired.” Eryn’s mother was of strong Russian decent, tracing her family line back to before the cold war. She always insisted on keeping the language alive. Eryn…well not so much. But her mother was gone now. “So tell me doctor, am I still alive?” The doctor knew too much anyway. He had surely overheard Vonn tell her Casela Synthi-er was dead and he certainly didn’t miss the amount and type of injuries she came in with. She should be dead, and not just on paper.

The man flipped the tricorder closed and said “Whoever you might be is alive. You’ll be sore a few more days, but that will pass. Tomorrow morning your wounds will have mended enough for light exercise. I recommend stretching and trying to get back range of motion. You were in that locker of theirs for a while. so moving around sooner than later is a good idea. Other than that… unless you want to adopt a targ puppy, we are done here.” and he stood up.
The Vet
Eryn stood up smoothly but not without her body telling her it wasn’t happy. “Since the giant tin can didn’t tell you, the name’s Eryn Romanov.” She moved slowly toward the outer room. “I’ll follow your advice doctor. It feels good to be moving. And if you really have targ puppies, I’ll be by in a week when I can keep up with one a little better.” She shook his hand and secured the door behind him.
She turned taking in the room again with fresh eyes. She moved toward the replicator, ordering rice soaked in broth and tea. No more water and lime for her. When she was finished she ordered a few chemicals from the replicator and a pair of scissors and stepped into the refresher. 45 minutes later, her hair was no longer black, but platinum blonde and short, right at her jaw line. She cleaned up the cut hair, the scissors and now empty bottles and recycled them. The hair job would do for now, but she would have to find someone to make it permanent and not ask questions or talk. She was bone weary by this point. Antibiotics and pain meds, and then back to bed. She hated it, but pushing her body before it was ready would land her back on the doctor’s table.
