Alex leaned back, nodding slightly to herself. “My god! I can imagine that’s a lot on one’s plate! Anything we can do to help? I mean, his ass has more construction capability than anyone and it would make sense, if we can, to work together.” She looked to Lucas with a smile “Right Boss?”

Lucas nodded. “As you can see, she likes ‘volunteering’ for things all the time but I have to agree with Miss Bruner this time around. It would make good sense to bring us in early. We’re gonna be here indefinitely, so it makes sense to contribute to the educational system’s infrastructure now so we can ensure it not only meets the needs of the community as a whole but also our specific needs moving forward.” With a wide grin, the magnate asked. “What’dya say?”

Karina smiled like someone who just got dealt a royal flush in her first hand. “I say that sounds excellent. There is a woman, name of Runa Edman. She is a highly sought after early education specialist. I want her, and so we are going to build a school that she can’t say no to. It will need room for infants up to third grade and a great deal of outdoor space. As in out door classrooms that are twice the size of the classroom in the building. To start find me space.” Karina turned to Alex, “That means I need to know how many children in those age ranges will be arriving so I can add that to current numbers.” She looked back at Lucas, “Then I can tell you how many classrooms this school will have.”

“Well…” Lucas began with a grin. “… I think I can probably bend the Governor more to my will when it comes to education space than just plain commercial space. So we’ll get you as much as we can and where we can’t, you’ll have large holodecks to make up for it.” There was a pause and then he added. “At last calculations, the dependent population of the HHI personnel is approximately 25,000 total with around 20K in the K-12 bracket.”

Karina shook her head. “I will need specifics. The rules and regulations for different specific grade levels for teacher to student ratio is different. And K-12 doesn’t cover early education which is actually birth to age eight. I will need much more specifics.” Then she turned her head to look over the view of the dome from the roof. “I understand the governor is planning to expand the dome. Holodecks are not acceptable in place of what I require. They have their place, but are a sad substitute. I will speak with him. He wants this incredible school and university, which means the best of educational settings and providing that as incentive for the best teachers in their field. He will have to give me the space I need or the project is pointless.” Karina may not be used to always getting what she wanted, but she was more than willing to walk away. They wanted to be the best, then they had to put actions, economics, resources, and personnel where their mouth was.
