Karilan stirred and then their eyes fluttered open and they looked confused for a moment and then they saw Kaili and they smiled. The morning light was coming in and it bathed them both in a wonderful yellowish-orange light. They leaned for ward and kissed Kaili softly and then said “Fo just a moment… I thought I had dreamt last night happened.”

Karilan

Kaili returned the kiss and then reached with one hand for the side of Karilan’s face. “I’m glad it wasn’t just a dream,” she whispered as she caressed them. After a few moments of silence during which she stared lovingly at them, she asked softly, “What are your plans for today? Do you have to work?”

Karilan smiled back and said “No. Last night was the soft opening, invite only. Today is inventory and final training for the staff, but the manager is handling that. I’ll pop in and check, perhaps. Why? I would assume you have a full schedule with your new position, wouldn’t you?”

Karilan

“I have a staff meeting later today. Though it’s more to get to know everyone and to hear where everyone is at. For that I need to be in the office. But everything else is paper work I can do from home,” she replied before kissing Karilan tenderly. “I was wondering, if maybe you’d like to spend some time together today. Meet for lunch? Or if you like, you can come back to my place and we spend the day? I do have to work. So it wouldn’t be very exciting or entertaining, I fear. So I understand if you’d rather do something else.” There was suddenly a hint of shyness and uncertainty about her as she waited for their reply.

Karilan smiled and said “I would like to spend as much time together today as possible. And I was thinking as I fell asleep last night… or was that this morning?” they teased softly, “I was thinking that perhaps instead of bouncing back and forth between residences… maybe… um… perhaps you’d… uh…” and they started getting flustered and their skin flushed bright red as their voice trailed off and they made circles with a finger on the sheet.

It took only a brief moment for Kaili to realise what Karilan was asking and it left her utterly speechless. She wanted to say yes and at the same time it felt too soon, too fast. So instead of giving them an answer, she asked, “Are you asking me to move in with you?” Her voice was soft, caring and full of love. As was her touch as she caressed Karilan.

Karilan nodded and then shook their head. “I am… I mean I was. I mean… I know.. don’t… I don’t know. It was just a thought. You can say no, it’s okay. I know it was a crazy idea. Too crazy. It’s fine. Really. No problem.” they said as a crease foundiot’s way in their brow. They sat up and said “But honestly where are my manners… you deserve breakfast, and I just happen to know someone who makes an excellent omelette.” and they started to get out of bed.

But before Karilan had the chance to really get up, Kaili had grabbed their wrist and pulled them gently back. Sitting up as well, she wrapped her arms around them and held them as close as possible. “It is a bit crazy, yes. But not too crazy. It would feel to fast if I were to give up my apartment right away. But how about this: After we had breakfast and got dressed and everything, we go over to my place. Spend the day there as I work and pack clothes, toiletries, everything I need for work and a few other things. And after my staff meeting we come back here. How does that sound?” she asked as she nuzzled the side of their neck before kissing and gently nibbling them there.
