Michael was curious and puzzled all at once. But he maintained his composure. No need to share information on something he knew next to nothing about. Though the thought the strange being mentioned earlier had just been here was troubling him. Why was this being seeking out Ylana? Maybe it wasn’t? Maybe he was just jumping to conclusions? It was odd though, that the being had more than just one encounter with her. What was it after?

Xavier needed to know about it. This was in starfleet’s hands at the moment and this was certainly not a good chance thing.

“Well, Stephen certainly knows how to throw an intriguing party.”She said light heartedly.

Halloway nodded thoughtfully feeling a twinge distracted with Ylana’s feelings. Nevertheless, he maintained his slight grin as the party went on.

Ylana came around the corner and a dark expression was cast over the woman’s face. “I need to get out of here. Before I lose what composure I have left,” she said abruptly. Gazing at Halai and Astrid, she gave them a nod. “If you’ll both excuse me.”

Gazing back at her husband, it was clear that Ylana was more than unsettled. Can you grab my coat for me? If I go near the front door again, unpleasant things will happen., and I’m not sure I can be held responsible for them if they do.

Halai simply gave a nod back, her face etched in concern. But now clearly wasn’t the time to address whatever just happened.

She looked to Astrid. “Some days I think to myself ‘I should get out more’ and then I do so and think that maybe I was misguided,” she said with a lopsided grin. Cosgrove had been reluctant to attend the party in the first place and while she didn’t regret it, it was not proving to be the relaxing evening she had hoped for.

Michael raised his good eyebrow as he moved to the front to grab Ylana’s jacket. He wasn’t about to let his wife leave without him. When he came back with her jacket, he put hand up to the other guests as he ushered her out.

What’s wrong Imzadi? he gently asked.
