IC: Valkris continued to the others lead as her eyes panned the tunnel’s scenery, trying to peer through the subtle light and into the darkness beyond it. These tunnels appeared to not been refurbished or touched since their creation. In the background, the sounds of their pursuers faded until only silence remained. She hadn’t noticed the small rat-like creature with dark, blood red quills lining its spine like an earth porcupine. The muzzle had a stripe or seam along the upper part indicating it might split apart. The fur under the quills held a hint of green to its natural brown, likely covered in fungi or slime.

Tyra moved up “There are two ways out of here.” She said “The main enterance tunnel which is right here.” She said “Or the sewer about an hour’s walk away from here.” She said “I suggest we get moving. I personally don’t want to deal with what might actually be living down here.” She said as she headed off toward the main entrance.

Dawson noticed one of the vermin scurrying nearby and get a bit too close to them. He held his gaze on it as he agreed with the chief engineer. “I agree. Let’s get moving quickly.”

He kept his eyes on it, close enough to grab in case the disgusting little beast decided to attack. He would grab it and break its neck.

Tyra led the way out of the access tubes. She wanted out of her. Her hand was throbbing and she needed to get it cleaned up.

The rat continuing its path until it drew near Tyra. Its ear flickered causing it to pause, finally acknowledging her presence for the first. It raised its head then let out a raspy, warning hiss. The quills rattled slightly adding a hollow sound to the warning before it suddenly bolted past the two women and Dawson. Its shape vanished around the corner. After a few hours, light peered ahead proving Tyra’s direction to be the exit.

Once out, they found themselves near a drainage pipe just outside the zoo’s wall. The investigation appeared to still be under with officers holding back the remaining crowds and locking the gates.

“Well, anyone has an idea where to head to next? If not, I’ll take you two back to my apartment where we can clean up and figure out our next step,” Valkris was unsure if taking them back to her apartment was the best idea, but staying out here was ill-advised.

“I have a company building we can go to not far from here. It would be a good place to recollect ourselves. It’s the ‘Secret Securities’ building. I’m the owner.” he said as he brushed slightly past to take a look around.

He then looked back. “Unless of course, you think your apartment is a better place. I would hate for you to have to be dragged anymore into this than is necessary.”

Tyra looked at the two “If they know that you’re even involved Valkris, you’re apartment will be the first place that they look. I think the securities building is the better idea. ” She said “We just need to move out of here as quietly as possible.” She added “And that’s going to be difficult with all of them out there.”

Just outside the tunnel’s exit was large plant life, from large hedge bushes to medium sized trees. It was obviously designed to hide the unwanted image of the exit from visitors. The tactic appeared to work well because neither the police or slowly dwindling crowd had noticed their presence.

Valkris wasn’t pleased with the idea of heading to an unknown building, but she couldn’t argue against their logic. She supposed she needed the familiarity to ease her nerves after today’s event. Swallowing her self-conscious over the fact, the Ensign nodded and spoke.

“I’m already dragged into this pretty far as it is. I might as well go legs deep into this mess before some other animals suffer the worst fate,” cautiously she edged out, hunching down and low to the ground. She peered up to spot the scene then quickly pulled her head back down. Her eyes turned to the other two.

“We have two choices. One of us can distract them, while the other two disappear into the crowd. Then we can all meet up at your building. Or, we could wait until the police officers are thin enough for us to go without being seen.”

OOC: if you chose option two, I’ll have us do a time skip and we can move right to the building. Tony, you’ll need to write the scene when we get there (either way) because I don’t have any idea what the building looks like. ;) Another side note, the shift is about to switch to night shift in another hour or two.

Dawson left the decision to the ladies. Sure he was a gentleman, but he also knew that neither of them likely knew how to get to Secret Securities from here. “I leave it to you two to decide. Either way, I have to lead the way to Secret Securities. Thoughts?” he said looking to first the Chief Engineer and then the security ensign.

OOC: Sounds great to me Janice! :) If you want, once Tyra makes her choice, I can set up the next area for Secret Securities like you mentioned. :) I’m really enjoying this!

Tyra looked at the other two and thought for a moment “I suggest option two. It would be too obvious if we try to distract them.” She said quietly as she watched the activities going on beyond the exit that was hidden.
