Once Glen finished and accepted the mission, Commander Delany smiled again. “..Glad to get the help from you Captain. I’ll forward you all information we gathered so far. If you want you can even assign your teams to examining it themselves. But given they’re due R&R I’d make it optional, but its up to you..” She said. Then offering over a stack of 10 PADDs for Glen in a carry bundle.

Glen managed to pick up and balance the stacked bundle of PADDs. There had to be some way to reduce the physical size of memory storage.

“I’ll review the information with my team,” said Glen, “but I want to allow them some time off first. Thanks, this is the kind of mission that makes serving worthwhile.”

”..Much appreciated Captain. Do take care once you’re out there, who knows where those bread crumbs will lead!” She said.

As he was leaving the mention of leaving bread crumbs suddenly gave Glen an idea. He turned back at the door. “Commander! That funnel shape… it’s unusual for a space-faring race to expand outwards in one particular direction. It’s a very curious pattern… Deliberate and considered… Almost like they are on a star trek, searching space themselves? Looking for something or someone! Do the records show that they could have had an accidental contact with a passing ship in the past?”

”..What little we got certainly doesnt point to that. I suppose that’ll be up for you to find out. It’s possible though they had sublight ships exploring before discovering warp drive..” She theorized. “..Who can say?” She added after a moment to ponder.

“Well, if you didn’t find anything… I just wonder why it points only one way? But it could have been an interesting natural radio signal or an exoplanet that looked like a good choice for colonisation that lead them. Don’t worry, if there is a reason, then we will find it!” added Glen.

“I better be getting back,” said Glen.
