The last year had been a hard one, between rehab and and the selection process Mooney had been on the go for most of it.

The last few months had been hardest, between travel and waiting here to catch an Oiler out to his new assignment. Inactivity had never his strong suit. But the news of the Merrimack coming into port had put a spring in his stride.

It would still be a few hours until she docked, and began letting off and taking on crew. Mooney busied himself with insuring his gear was transferred from storage, and that he was checked out of transient housing.

It was his intention to be ready to board just after the first wave of personnel on shore leave.

Several hours later, the ship did dock, and crew began beaming down from the ship. Aboard the ship, Lieutenant Saark had heard that he would be receiving new crew, or at least a new crew member, and he awaited the arrival of the new crew member in his office. Until then, he was working on paper work, and other boring stuff he had to do. Still, he knew why these boring things had to be done.

Saark was a full-blooded Vulcan, and he tended to be quite patient. He’d be sitting there waiting whether it took the new personnel two hours or twenty four to board. He liked to know who he was working with. What kind of people they were. He found it important to know these things, so that he could run his Sickbay with utmost efficiency.
