USS Merrimack
Main Sim - Bridge
[snip]
OOC: I think Drudoc is still on the Merrimack here, if she had returned just retcon it for the moment for this…
OOC: I thought she had gone. Otherwise I wouldn’t have said what I said to William. However, it isn’t a problem.
: : : : : Several minutes more passed… : : : : : : : : : : The Captain returned to the Bridge. : : : : : Following Glen was the Starfleet Fleet Captain ranked Romulan Drudoc Andone from the Ark Angel, her black-red striped jumper stood in stark contrast to the older styled the Merrimack’s crew used. The mid 140 year old Romulan looked around the bridge a moment standing for the moment to the left of the door to the briefing room they had just exited.: : : : “I have lifted all restrictions on the crew,” Glen announced. Turning to Yeoman Hopkins, he said, “Sorry, you may return to your Quarters now.”
: : : :
: : : : Glen walked across to his chair. “Thank you, Lt. Grey. You look as if you are comfortable there? Apart from the Boron Particle, are there any other emergencies to take care of?”
: : : :
: : : Will stood up from the chair, fixing his jacket “Not too comfortable, believe me, Sir” He handed the man the reports he’d received “Some ghost sightings on the lower decks, as far as I could tell it was nothing but with this unknown particle and time travel involved you cannae be too sure”
: : :
: : “Ghosts?” asked Glen. “Did more than one person see them? Did the ship’s sensors detect anything? Please make the necessary checks. I really don’t want any more unexpected complications to this mission… Oh! And Lt. Trainor from the Ark Angel has remained aboard to help us with the Boron Particle. You are free to join him if you wish… I guess you’ll be interested in the results of the next 100 years of scientific achievement? Not that he is gonna tell you anything directly, but you may learn something by osmosis! Delegate the ghost busting to someone else if you want to get going now.”
: :
“It’s scattered reports, several different people, as I understand it.” He smiled at the opportunity revealed “That is something I’d very much like to do” He moved away towards the Lift.
: :
“..If there are temporal anomalies causing people to see things, you may try rigging a mobile forcefield emitter, modifying it to a frequency range of 10.38 Giga Cycles off its normal operating parameters may reduce the local anomalies if they frequently show up in a place..” She suggested to the man heading for the lift.: Bre had hoped the short walk from the conference room to the station would quell the monsters rumbling around in her tummy. She had hoped concentrating on something else would keep her mind off the sharp pains, but nothing had actually worked. She had been glancing at her chronometer ever since she got to her station, now the pains were coming hard and fast three minutes apart and she was feeling a bit faint.
:
Drudoc happened to glance over at Bre as she had taken her seat and looked a bit pale, for the moment she said nothing though not interfering.: Was it too early? she thought.
:
: Thirty four weeks and three days with active healthy sized twins might just be doable.
:
: =^=Nedic to the bridge. We have… We have…=^= she paused and went to her knees, =^=I’m in labor.=^= she gasped before looking around at the assembled crew.
:
Hearing the call for help Drudoc moved over to catch and support Bre, “..Easy miss, focus and breathing. The last thing you want to do is pass out. Ive gone through labor myself so if this is your first time, it can be a bit of an experience despite what you may have heard or learned…” She said in a calm manner helping to keep Bre comfortable.Once she was Drudoc opened the lid of what seemed a tricorder from her belt, running the basic scan over Bre to see if there were any obvious complications to report until the medical team would arrive.
: : So much for no complications. she thought.
: :
Will looked back from the lift as the Comms officer called Sick-bay, he had just given the order to go to the lower levels and the last thing he heard before the doors closed labour. The surprised look was truly something else.
:
: Cross was quick to respond =/\= Acknowledged on my way Bre =/\= and with that she ran out of sickbay with a gurney assisted by two nurses, while Marthese got what was needed ....that is if Bre made it to sickbay in time.
:
Drudoc stepped back when the nurses came on the bridge, she reported to Cross. “..The Lieutenant’s contractions are coming fairly quickly right now, not much more then a minute or so apart. I’ve detected no obvious other complications so far before your arrival..” She stated. The female doctor entered the bridge and made a bee line directly to the Lt ‘’Bre stay calm I’m going to check how dilated the cervix is’’ the medical tricoder showed she was nearly fully dilated ‘’Bre the babies are coming shall we help you on the gurney?’’ she said in a calm voice, though Cross was thinking that she most probably have to give birth on the bridge or corridor and never make it to sickbay.
Bre looked at the gurney and shook her head.
“Please no. Help me up, I want to walk. I’ll get on that thing if we make it to sickbay.” she said reaching for the two nurses.
Drudoc also moved to assist Bre from behind as the nurses would do their bit.
‘’Thank you ma’am ‘’Cross told Drudoc with all the politeness she could muster while eyeing the tricoder and wondering how more advanced it had too be.
Usually Bre wasn’t one to argue with a Doctor, her older sister Mary was a Doctor after all. In this case, however, there was something about the movement that was soothing to her. Though the contractions were coming hard and fast, she thought she might just have a little bit of time.
Cross and a nurse helped the Lt to get up and walk ‘’At your own pace Bre,this is your call’’ the doctor said in an ever soothing tone’‘The new doctor is preparing everything we need in a private cubicle in sickbay and oh there is a retired midwife too..though you would need a rather sophisticating translator to understand her’‘.
Once Bre was settled as she would be wished, Drudoc again stepped back out of the way again.
As the nurses and Bre were exiting the bridge, Cross gave Drudoc a slight nod before the door slid closed behind them.
Once Bre, Cross, and the medical team had left, Drudoc turned to Glen. “..Captain, I believe it would be best if I return to my ship now. Lt Trainor should be able to ensure the safety of your ship from the particle located. I’ll contact you shortly if there are any other findings we came across, or major alternations to our given plans. If not, I suggest we begin to scan for wave form patterns matching those we showed in the briefing and prepare our defenses and weapons as discussed for the coming engagement when it happens. We may have hours, or we may have days, but either way when they show it would be best the fight is on our terms and not there’s with ourselves unprepared..” She said.
“Certainly,” replied Glen. “We can keep in contact by comms. Kord and Mthunzi will prepare the weapon. I’m slightly concerned about these reports of ghosts, as it appear to be a real phenomena, and is likely to indicate some rip in the fabric of the space-time continuum.”
