When Tia returned to engineering she found it a hive of activity. With her JOs calmly but surely checking the current power draw demands on Daniel’s device. NE Marvin came over to hand her a PADD. “..Ma’am we began initial checks on the system draws everything looks ok so far. Daniel also confirms things are within specifications. Still no idea how this thing works but it looks like it’ll be doing some kind of advanced science and engineering we cant really wrap our current theories around..” He said.

Once Tia ordered a full simulation run NE Marvin nodded. “..We’ll do our best to have it ready by the time of our arrival ma’am. Daniel is over by your office checking on system checks with NE Guido..” he said.

Tia thanked him and made sure he didn’t have any more questions. She then headed for her office and where Daniel was. “Daniel…” she said as she came up on him, greeting him as if everything was great and good to go.

Daniel turned to Tia, “..Ah Lieutenant. I trust you got the latest report from NE Marvin?” he asked. Not at all seeming disturbed by the delays.

She took a breath and smiled, nodding. “I did. Now that we know all the specs are there, we will spend the few days it takes us to clear this section of space to run a couple more simulations just to be sure.” She nodded to him once more in respect. “Can’t be too careful, right?”

”..When time and reality are at stake with energies such as we will be using both being careful and patience are key. I am sure there is a temporal joke in there somewhere but such was never my strong suit..” He replied.

She gave a half smile. “I’m sure there is. Well, if you have no immediate need of me, I am going to seek some rest. I’ll be back in about 12 hrs to see how the set of sims went and if we need to rethink anything. I suggest you get some sleep as well. I’m putting my ship and crew in your hands, Sir. I don’t want you addlebrained because you just had to oversee every minute detail, including the running sims. I’ll ring you when I come back for answers.” She waited to be sure he had heard and understood. She was effectively kicking him out of Engineering for the next two shifts.

Daniel regarded her a second then nodded. “..As you prefer then. I’ll return to my quarters..” He replied setting down the work kit he had been using after closing it back up and packing things back into it in an orderly manner. Leaving it then on a work cart he departed back to the turbolift on his way to his quarters.

She smiled as he left, glad he was getting a break as well. Once he was gone, she exhaled and moved towards Kord’s quarters where she seemed to spend more time of late. She had a formal objection to make on the record and a nap to take. With any luck at all, she’d stay awake long enough to eat.
