With all due respect to the fine crew of the Merrimack and the long strange two character trip it’s been, I feel my presence here is fading therefore I’m choosing to leave the ship at this time.

I do really wish you wouldn’t, and I disagree about the “fading” presence. Take a different character if you want. The Communications officer often has very little to do. If not , then au revoir and thanks for your long service.
