Jasper was beside himself still as he wondered the ship for hours after he finally made it to the forward lounge. As he took a seat at a corner booth in the corner. As he started to stare out at the stars outside the viewports as he got lost in the stars as a waiter came over to him. “Sorry to bother you, sir? Do you wish something to eat or drink?” The waiter asked softly. As Jasper was pulled back to reality for a moment. “Uh! Yes, please! How about some Salisbury steak over noodles and some fresh rolls. “And a large sweet tea and a pitcher for refills.” Jasper said looking tired and haggard also wore down. Still looking a bit disheveled from all the repair he had done and never got proper treatments for his injuries.

The waiter looked at Jasper. “Anything else before I put in the order?” the waiter asked quickly.”How about some pie? A Pecan Pie! I believe that’s it. Thank you.” Jasper said barely audible as he let out a hard sigh as he returned back to he peace of the viewport window. As he contemplated if he was right for the Merrimack any longer or should he return to earth and find other jobs in the inner rim. like starbase duty, Jupiter Shipyards or another nearby shipyard. Or just resign from Starfleet altogether.

Jasper was so lost in thought that the arrival of his food and the waiter started him. He visibly jumped several feet out of his chair and back to the cushion. with a light thud. “I am sorry sir!” the waiter said apologizing over the incident. “Its alright I promise I was just way lost in thought to hear of your approach.”Jasper said smiling have half-heartedly. “Please proceed.” Jasper said with a softer face. As he watched the waiter delivers the food and drink to him. “Thank you please keep the tea pitcher full please it will be appreciated. ” Jasper said with a smile as he started to open his silverware and started to eat. He took a moment to take a deep drink of his sweet tea. As he focused on the food now and the light music playing in the background.

Jasper was in no hurry by this point as he casually ate his meal and from time to time drifted to the windows to look out at the passing stars that were streaking past the viewports. as the ship moved along. As he took a good sip of his tea. As the waiter did as he could to keep his pitcher of tea full of sweet tea. “Would you like dessert? ” the waiter asked him softly not to bother Jasper. “Sure How about some warmed southern Pecan Pie and some ice cream with some chocolate drizzled over it.” Jasper said with a long sigh. “Of course it will be up shortly.” The waiter told Jasper kindly as he left to get the order prepared. As Jasper finished off what was left of his meal by then. As he looked around the room casually before returning to the solitude of the windows.

After a while, Jasper asked the waiter to play a few songs from the jukebox. The waiter smiled as he went over to play a few selections of music from the old classic jukebox something to attempt to brighten Jasper’s mood. As the first notes started to play it did make him feel a bit better as he continued to eat his delicious Pecan Pie and ice-cream dessert. He thanked the waiter for his choice of selections. As he finished his pie and started to truly enjoy the music now.
