Jasper listened to the NE ensign Bradley talk as he finished the odd repair he was doing. “If I must Ensign Bradley but the life support system needs to be repaired now since its top priority. I will go after the chief arrives and relieves me of the duty so I know it will get done.” Jasper said calmly as he gathered his tools and headed off towards the life support generator on this level. “I promise if I feel worse I will leave you in charge of the repairs of the unit until the chief relieves you.” Jasper said with a small smile which faded as fast as it arrived. as they got to the proper section. As the doors opened to a smoke-filled room but there was no fire. “Computer evac the smoke from the room please as the computer beeped in compliance as the smoke left through the vents like a monster leaving the room. As he entered to survey the damage or the extent of it. As he started to remove the remainder of the panels to attempt to start to work on the device. “Wow! What a mess!” He said calmly to him and Bradley as they got to work.

Examining the damages Jasper would find the primary life support generator was, despite the smoke now gone, intact and undamaged. What had caused the smoke was several power relays near the generator had blown out knocking it offline. Six of the boxy relays would need to be carefully replaced, realigned, and adjusted to proper specs to get the generator back online.

” How odd !” As Jasper finished his inspection of the unit it was perfectly fine but all the relays and conduits going to the device were damaged. “This is a first for me to see. this kind of damage.” as he started removing the power relays and started replacing them one by one the aligning them to proper specs. double-checking with a tricorder to make sure all was set correctly before restoring power to the conduits it took him hours to do the repairs. “I hope this is right.” As he looked over the readings again.

It took Jasper the better part of several hours working alongside a few other NEs to replace the relays and get them carefully aligned into proper specifications. On firing up the primary life support generator again things went smoothly as could be.

It was then upon his return to engineering that NE Bradley found him again. “..Seems that was the last of the work on repairs after our little barrel roll. The chief is off relaxing somewhere I think having come down with a bit of a head cold. Word is we picked up some passenger of some sort but I don’t got any details on it. So since we got nothing else to do I guess we got some time off..” He said.

Jasper acknowledged the officer’s recommendations and also to a bit of extra time and headed off to sickbay for a brief check-in and repair and off to have dinner and maybe unwind in the forward lounge. “I am off to medical then to some dinner afterward.” Jasper said calmly to the officer as he headed to the nearest lift. He pressed the button to call the turbo lift car as he waited patiently for the car to arrive. “Have a good night chief.” Jasper said with a small fleeting smile as the doors opened to the car as he entered the lift as the doors closed behind him. “Sickbay!” As the computer beeped as the lift took off to the new destination. It took no time to get where it needed to go as the doors opened to a rather bustling corridor near medical. As he stepped out into the corridor after it was clear for him to do so. as he swiftly and calmly moved closer to sickbay. as he passed the doors he took a seat in the waiting area. To be called back for his turn with the medical staff.
