Nkosenye ducked his way onto the bridge and looked at Glenn. “Sir. Commander Kord and I have finished with the devices. I am available for the Landing Party,” he said in his rolling-boulder-like voice.

“Good work!” Glen replied.

“Mr. Buchanan, it looks like you will have the Bridge until Commander Kord relieves you. Please don’t do anything rash,” Glen said.

“Yeoman Hopkins, keep a channel open to the Ark Angel and please let me know if you here anything from them,” Glen said.

“We can take a slow walk down to the Transporters together, if you are ready,” told Lt. Grey and Lt. Nkosenye.

William stood up “I see you still prefer to go by the old doctrine of Captain on the Landing party” He smiled as he typed a message to his lab to bring his personal tricorder and communicator to the Transporter room. He looked over to the towering Security Chief “They’d just changed the regulations my first stint here a few years back, Captain gathers a landing party and proclaims his intention to ignore said regulations so he can leave the ship whenever he wants.” William smiled at his first and current Captain “I was a twenty-year-old Crewman and the Captain knew my name” He stepped towards the turbolift “I don’t think you need to worry about what people will think about you Captain, your reputation within the crew is rock-solid” He put his hands in his pants pockets “Although I did serve with Scientist on Beta 7 who asked me to give you her contact details, that was thoroughly annoying” His demeanour had changed from his more rigid behavior before.

“Some would consider the Captain of the ship ‘non-essential’ personnel on a landing party. I disagree. In this instance I need to see this artificial anomaly with my own eyes if we are going to lob around bombs that disrupt planetary systems,” replied Glen. “And anyway, I’m curious!”

Nkosenye nodded at the Captain, but peeled off from the group heading to the Transporter room and made his way to the Armory. He retrieved his gear and then double-timed it to the Transporter Room.

“Just us then,” Glen said to Grey as they left the Bridge.
