[snip]The lever did indeed begin to open the stone airlock which rolled aside on weighted unseen mechanisms in the walls. Inside the entryway was dark only lit by the bit of light from the interior of the shuttle. It seems they would need to break out the field hand lights to proceed further if they didn’t want to stumble around in the dark.

=/\= Tinga, it is very dark inside. Unless you get some lighting we will no longer be able to follow your progress. =/\= Glen told the shuttle team.
-Glen, CO
“The palm beacons or palm lights should work to give us proper lighting.” Jasper said calmly as he started to get them out of the locker near him. as he turned them all on and off to make sure they were operational. “I can also run a line for lighting down the corridor?” Jasper said calmly to the others.
Ensign Jasper Ericson - Jo Engineer
Tinga took one of the lights.
“Yes, that would be a good idea Jasper.”
=^=Already on it sir.=^=

Once the trio with their NE (what was his name again? HELP!), had the flashlights out and on peering into the gloom of the dark open doorway in the pyramid airlock showed a hallway of stone extending about 30ft ahead, their flashlight’s lighting didn’t extend much further in the thick gloom. But it was enough for them to see the hallway was about 20ft wide, by 30ft high. Every 10 or so feet the rock was seen to split in a thin 1 inch line likely indicating the pyramid was bit with giant 10ft or so around stone blocks. Though how that was done under the ocean at depths like this was a mystery they likely wouldn’t solve. Though if they did it would certainly be a science and engineering report for the history books for sure!
Entering the gloomy hall they only had to go a further 10ft (now 40ft from the shuttle!), to find their first choice, a black smooth metal like doors 20ft in height were to their left and right, a small slit about eye level that their hands could shimmy into were present. No other obvious sign of handles or oddities was present in either door.
OOC: Again to keep things moving I’ll assume you each try peeking into the door slits, and/or shimmying your hands in the holes. Just don’t assume you open the doors right away please wait for me to reply on that detail thanks.
Peering into the dark slit holes found just more darkness, peering in with the lights found they only extended about an inch or so in depth with two little trigger handles inside shaped as a downward V.
Or they could ignore the doors and continue along the hall which continued down now on some stone steps swirling in a circular pattern to a deeper level below, and up to a higher level above.

Tinga went tot he left door and peered through.
“Smith. Make sure you get detailed scans and check out that stairway a bit. Jasper, check the right door. Are either of you familiar with this type of architecture?” she asked.
- Tinga, Comms
The architecture was not familiar to anyone off hand, it had similar lines like the pyramids of Giza on Earth but nothing about it stood out as actually being egyptian. As mentioned when Tinga peered into the dark slits she saw two small handle triggers shaped as a downward V shape. When Jasper would do likewise for the right door again the same set of triggers could be seen and felt, perhaps they were an operating mechanism in the walls for opening either door?
NE Smith meanwhile took scans and proceeded the few feet down the hall’s end to the stairs, peering up and down he said, “…Goes up and down a level ma’am, pretty dark flashlights don’t go much further then 20ft into the gloom either way, do you want me to go up or down? Also scans aren’t showing anything along technological lines yet, though the walls seem to be interfering with deeper scans..” He said.
