Jack slapped a hand on his forehead ‘’Now why didn’t I think of that’’ he replied with a sheepish smile on his face ‘’ Ordering Chinese is fine by me…no stir fried worms or cockroaches though!’‘

He flicked open his cell phone ‘’Hope the call would get through,so mate what’s your order?’‘.

Jasper almost laughed but stopped himself before it came up. “Are you alright?? You kinda slapped yourself hard there you got a nice red mark now.” Jasper said with concern. As he heard the request.” Let’s see?! Sweet and Sour Chicken with fried rice. egg drop or egg flower soup depending on what they go by. fried wontons and chicken egg rolls.” Jasper finished so that Jack could focus on the order. “I don’t do Klingon food either.” meaning it to be a bad joke.

‘’Oh I tend to do that quite often’’ Jack replied and ordered the food, adding sweet and sour pork ‘’Yes that’s right for two’’ then he stopped with the transmitter next to his ear and frowned ‘’Jasper they are asking me where to deliver ,what shall I say!’’ the ensign exclaimed confused and puzzled .

“well transporter services division at star fleet academy. Give the beaming instructions to the transporter operator to beam the food to this location. USS Merrimack deck 6 Officers Mess.Coordinates.147 by 216 by 24.”Jasper replied.

‘’Oh!’’ Jack replied and repeated what the engineer had told him to say ‘’That was cool mate,lets head to the Mess before our Chinese food gets cold’‘and laughed as he hurried away.

The man seem to be having or showing a great lack of intelligence or common sense.

“Ok! let’s go? ” he let out a small chuckle. He noticed the lack of common sense and possibly other issues but for some odd reason, that made him charming to him a bit. As the started to Mess hall to get their food. “Are you Ok??” Jasper asked again softly. as they walked down the corridor.

‘’Sure mate never felt better’’ he replied heading for the food ‘’Mmm it smells delicious’’ Jack pulled a chair ‘’Ready to tuck in Jasper?’‘.

The Ensign was in his element,hardly anyone on board giving him orders ,meeting Jasper and eating his favorite food ‘’Say’’ he told the engineer between mouthfuls ‘’I was on the bridge for the first time ,even sat in the Captain’s chair..now how cool is that!’‘.

Munching on his sweet and sour pork he slapped his forehead again ‘’Jasper we did not order wine..how could we have forgotten?’’ Jack moaned.

NC Jack.

“I can say I never thought about it before sitting in the captain’s chair.” Jasper said calmly to him. As the man hit himself yet again. “Jack why are you hitting your head like that??” Jasper asked the man. As he even felt like he was hit there too now as he shook his head a moment before continuing. “All we have to do is order the wine and have it beamed aboard?” Jasper said now feeling a headache coming on.

‘’Oh, no bother a habit of mine which I must have inherited from my father ‘’ Jack replied before slurping on the noodles ‘’Since none was there I did and man it sure gave me a buzz pretending I was Captain Jack ,giving orders and firing at the enemy’’ his voice expressing a particular feeling of content, cheery, merry and jovial.

Jasper ate quietly to make sure he finished all of his meal and had some wine as well. He noted the change in the officer. Jasper did enjoy the Chinese food and the wine and of course the company. As he gave a small stretch to get the kinks out and took another sip of wine. As he sat there listening to the man. “Captain Jack?? Oh??? Captain Jack Sparrow???” He could see the fascination with the character and show. It was a great show for its time Jasper thought to himself. As he took a look around the mess hall.

‘’Yaaa me Captain Jaaaack Sparrow ‘’ the ensign shouted at the top of his voice ‘’I..I feeel kind of dizzzzy’’ he managed to say while making an attempt to steady himself but failed miserable.

Jack gave his best shot and managed to keep up his balance for a couple of minutes before falling backwards , it seemed his legs had developed a mind of their own and he wondered why.
The ensign had been left on the ship for a reason, his work mostly involved checking any containers that were delivered but Jack was on the floor drunk .

Jasper came over to the man helped him up and put him on a chair again. “Let’s get you some black coffee to help sober you up.” Jasper said moving to the counter to get him some coffee. Jasper was ok he was used to having much stronger stuff to drink while at home. He could easily pass a sobriety test if needed luckily there safe on the ship. As he grabbed a clean coffee cup and the full pot of black coffee he returned to the table. “This will help.” Jasper said calmly to the man.

By the time Jasper returned with the coffee, Jack was singing ‘Sway with me’ mixing up the lyrics and at times the words sounded incoherently.The ensign had never got drunk before and he chose to do it at the worst possible moment................since Jack was suppose to be checking the cargo coming in before the Merrimack left the docking area for good.

Jasper got the coffee to the table and poured a cup for jack. ” here drink this.” Jasper asked the man to drink. As he tried to give him the cup. Jasper was not aware that Jack had other duties after there lunch break. But Jasper is more than willing to take up for the now intoxicated man. Jasper checked the computer. “Oh snap.” As he realized he was posted to be checking in the supplies and gear from the surface. “Jack your post to be checking in supplies and gear. Hear drink more coffee. ” Jasper asked him to. “If you’re not up for it I will do the job for you while you go sleep in your cabin?” Jasper said even though if the man was even understanding him.

Jack drank the coffee but he was in no state to carry out any duties .He manage to nod and made his way to the cabin if he’ll ever make it to bed was another story.
Down in Cargo bay the engineer would find a Padd with the supplies the ship would need from food to what every dept required for the long journey ahead.

NC Jack.

He watched as Ensign Jack moved on back to his cabin slowly. As he darted off to the cargo bay as he entered he moved to the padd laying on a crate waiting were a few engineering support officers. “Hello, Gentlemen I am taking over for Ensign Jack he is under the weather. Ok, let’s get this stuff on board quickly and get it taking to there respective departments or their storage areas by the transporter. Ok.” As he watched the others nod in agreement as they all moved to there positions. “Ok let’s get this done!” as Jasper started looking over the padd. “We will deal with main ships stores like food and other equipment then we will deal with departmental items and make sure you check them off as having been arrived on your pads and scan the items to make sure of no stowaways.” Jasper asked them all nicely.

Jasper continued on his duty until the task was complete and completely logged in. And sent off the necessary supplies to there destinations so their departments would be ready for the upcoming mission. Jasper sent messages through the Padd system to all departments that all the supplies were here and stored and others were sent the items that requested them to do so. If anything was missing please let me know. As Jasper signed the form and sent it off to all department heads.

Jasper looked over at the others that were left. “Please go on to your other duties if you’re done, you’re dismissed for the day.” Jasper said kindly to them all. As he headed out of the cargo bay and headed back to his cabin to clean up and then head for a late afternoon snack in ten forward areas. As the doors opened to a rather docile area. He thought it would be more hopping at this hour or he might be still early. As he moved to his usual spot near the winds as he took a seat. A waiter came over. “What would you like to have?” A Frosty strawberry Margaretta and a Ferengi Star Duster. Plus a Double cheeseburger and fries and a chocolate shake with hot fudge.” Jasper said with a bit of sadness to his voice. As he looked out at the stars towards home and family. As the waiter took off and got the order ready. Jasper lost track of time as he focused on the starscape outside of the viewports of the ship. As the waiter returned with the margarita and the starduster. He gave a bit of time before placing the other order he knew Jasper was distracted at the moment as he took his time checking on the others in the lounge before going to place the order.

As he casually took the margarita and drank it down in one large gulp. Moments later a massive brain freeze hit him as he grabbed his head. “Damn it! That smarts.” As he tried to warm up his head. As the pain slowly subsided. “I should have known better!!” Jasper scolded himself. As the waiter came over and brought his food. “Are you ok Jasper??” the waiter asked with concern. “I am fine I drank my drink to fast and got brain freeze. The waiter lightly laughed. “I understand I will bring you some water to help mellow it out.” as the waiter left.

Ensign Jasper Ericson Off Duty and still on Vacation at the moment

Jasper finished off what he had ordered and thanked the crewman for his assistance as he left for his cabin for the evening alone again. as he took another shower and prepared for bed. He had a small drink of water then headed off to dreamland. He slept through the night uneventfully. As he awakens with several stretches as he went and got a morning shower and shave and got redressed in a civilian uniform. he was still on vacation he decided to spend the day in old earth city of Rome, Italy as he headed to the transporter room to be beamed down to the surface.

As he walked into the quiet transporter room and moved directly to the padd. “Beam me down to Rome Italy. Near the temple on Mt. Olympus!” Jasper said calmly to the officer in charge of the room. “Aye sir!” the transporter chief said kindly to Jasper. “Stand by!” the officer commented as the transporter brightened and he disappeared from the padd and next moment he was on the pathway outside of the pantheon of Mt Olympus. As he overlooked the city in the late evening hours or early morning. He was not used to all the time zones as he took in the view of the area for a few minutes as he started a self sightseeing tour of the Ancient Roman Capitol. As he made his way from one attraction to another by foot.

“Theses Romans had style!” Jasper said softly in awe feeling part of the history of the region. As he walked through the antique streets of Rome as he made his way to the Coliseum. He took some holo-pictures of his trip for memory sake. As he took a few pictures of the famous statues of the area as well. As he made his way to the rail yard to catch a bullet train that used the original tracks of the old type railways of the region. so it did not interfere with any of the land or architecture. As he got there he went to his seat before the train took off it took no time at all to get to the Greecian Coast as the train slowed to a stop as the light of the sky was slowly brightening. As he saw the beautiful crystal blue clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea.

he thought about visiting the nation of Greece while he was in this region. After all, it was an only short hop by hover taxi or bullet train. His first stop was in Athens to visit the sites and take pictures there as he took a small touring craft to the Greecian Isles and their mysteries of the past. As there were a few island villages that still run like they did when they first were created like a renaissance festival or pioneer town of the old west. It was fascinating how they did things back then. He stopped at a small seaside cafe to have some late breakfast early lunch. As he took a seat at a small table that overlooked the sea. So light native music was playing in the background as the waitress came over and to the man’s order as he enjoyed the settings.

As she left to fill the order he watched a few windsurfers on the water enjoying themselves on the inviting waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Jasper got lost in the ambiance of the area as he did not notice the waitress returned with the drinks. She put them down quietly as she went to finish off the order that the man ordered.
