About thirty minutes later Kord arrived back in the shuttle bay with a hover dolly carrying two TSD coils, a box of tricorders, and a couple of large cylinders. He began setting up the work space for the task at hand.

As the project got underway Kord busied himself mounting the TSD coils in the cylinders and calibrating the subspace harmonic frequencies.

Once Nkosenye returned with the equipment the following time passed and eventually Kord would have his things nearing completion. Just as some final adjustments would be being done a faint light rumbling went through the ship, but no alarms had gone off or calls of red alert or such so evidently things were ‘ok’.

Meanwhile during this time some NE’s from engineering came in with a mobile force field emitter, NE Busts’em Up looked around, “..Someone say they saw a ghost?” he said, “..our future boys and girls on that other ship says these emitters we modified should help dampen them..” he explained.

Kord looked up from his work.

“Our Security Chief will be able to help you out with that.” he said simply before getting back to work.

More time passed, then Glen called from the Bridge. =/\= Kord and Mthunzi. This is Captain Glen. Progress report, please? =/\=

=^=We have one finished and a second one that will be ready in about twenty minutes.=^=

=/\= Good. I’m getting bored on the Bridge. All of our guests have returned home. And Bre has gone into Labour! =/\=

Nkosenye lifted the graviton projector into the housing with a grunt and muttered something in Zulu under his breath. “We need to give birth ourselves, before the Serpents arrive.” he said, gesturing to the assembly before them.

Remi watched from the main window of the ready room as the Command officers continued their task. Whatever they were working on they didn’t seem to include him. He figured he could sit around and do nothing, or he could offer his services. Stepping out from the ready room Remi approached Kord.

“Commander, you look like you could use some help. What can I do?”

Meanwhile nearby the security boys were busy hooking up the field projector as had been ordered. With a flip of a switch the device hummed to life, “..Well I guess that’s that?” NE Whatzit said.

OOC: Kord if you could finish up shortly with the bombs and get them ready for loading if/when needed I’d appreciate it! I’m gonna move the sim events along to the final leg here shortly!

GM CockRoach

Kord handed Remi a tricorder.

“I need to attune the devices to the subspace barrier frequency. Monitor the readings and tell me if I need to go up or down to match the frequencies. The tricorder is already set to run a comparative scan.” Kord said.

Kord, XO
Remi took the offered recorder and quickly looked it over to familiarize himself with what the Exec might need.
“Of course sir, what are the ranges we are looking at, what is our margin of error?”
Remi Buchanan

Nkosenye finished wiring in the components he was working on. “Odd feeling, making a bomb instead of defusing one. But I do think I prefer this side of the equation better.” and he wiped some sweat from his brow.

Nkosenye, CoS

At which point a com came from the Bridge. Captain Glen sounded more annoyed that usual for some reason, which probably wasn’t Kord’s fault. He would, however, be on the receiving end of it.

=/\= Glen to Kord. Kord, I’m still waiting for you to send me a new Helm officer. Also, isn’t about time we promoted someone to Chief Engineer? That business with the Boron Particle shows how vital it is for us to have a Chief Engineer in place. Please make a decision and get them in place immediately. Your weapons project is important for us to defeat the ‘Dark Serpents’ but you cannot let it be responsible for you neglecting your other duties. Glen out! =/\=

Kord wouldn’t need to look too far to find replacements. Remi Buchanan, standing next to him, was a pilot with some Helm experience and would be ideal. He would also recall a young female engineer that had come aboard at the last Starbase who had been very promising, and in adapting the 24th Century advice to counteract sub-space anomaly ‘ghosts’ problem, she had proved to be exceptional. He would remember her name was Tiastri Ezial.

Glen, CO
Remi was clueless as to what was going on, so he figured he better ask. He hoped the Exec would see he was only trying to understand so he could be of more help.
“Not to bother the Commander ‘s time, but what are we doing?” pointing to the Security Chief he continued , “he just said something about a bomb?”
Remi Buchanan

Nkosenye didn’t look up at Buchanan from his spot laying on the deck as he spoke, and his deep, rumbling, Zulu-accented voice seemed tense… even more so than usual. “Indeed, Ensign. We are currently building a device that will be capable of vaporizing this ship and everyone on it. So I would appreciate you either reserving your questions until the Commander and myself have our hands outside of this thing’s entrails; or you hand me that coupling and hold this while I get it fixed into place.”
