Tinga never fancied herself a great painter but she enjoyed artistic expression as many Andorians often did. The last time she had been on Earth she had come to Diamond Beach in Iceland with no canvas or brushes to speak of. Today, as she sat on the beach, intent on the scenery and her easel, the crisp clean wind ruffled a strand of silver hair and whispered in her ear. Smiling, she thought how her family would probably like this place even though it might be too warm for some.

Marthese had been more then grateful that the Lt had let her tag along,with no family to call her own the female doctor had nowhere else to go.She kept close to Tinga and even though marthese was wearing a jacket two inches thick with fleece on the inside,gloves and a scarf was still feeling cold.. so cold that she could not stop her upper and lower teeth from hitting against each other.

Tinga decided to take a break from painting. So many subtle color variations and her eyes needed a break.

“You know, my sister and I would swim in weather like this but you look positively miserable. I’m sorry. Maybe we should go to the cafe up the beach and get lunch ‘’ Tinga suggested as she shirked off the painter’s smock to reveal a set of loose flowing pants and tank top done in a deeper blue which complimented her light skin.

‘’You would!’’ marthese exclaimed then remembered what she had been taught back at the Academy ‘’Well guess you wooooooooooooo......she never got to finish the sentence as her feet went up in the air , finding herself in a sitting position.The doctor looked behind her and saw a small opaque chunk of what could have been frozen water ‘’I must be more careful’’ she uttered more to herself then the female Andorin.

‘’Maybe we should go to the cafe up the beach and get lunch ‘’.

‘’Are you sure?’’ the ensign asked ‘’I really don’t want to spoil your holiday ‘’ and with that she rose to her feet as quickly as possible ‘’Did you know that killer whales sometimes jump halfway on land to grab a seal’’ .

Tinga would get an idea of why marthese stood up at breath taking speed,even though they were far from the shore.

Marthese Dr.

Tinga laughed.

“Well I guess it’s a good thing you’re not a seal then. No, you’re not spoiling my holiday. I need a bit of a break and I’m starving. Now just be careful of the ice.”

Tinga looked down at the ice Marthese had just fallen on and decided not to try and kick it back into the water.
