As Kate entered sickbay she saw Hunter treated a patient who had been feeling nauseated ‘’ Doctor just went for a quick snack need help? ‘’ .
Hunter shook his head ‘’ By the way do you have any idea where our CMO has gone? ‘’ he asked . ‘’I have just came from the Dragon bar , she wasn’t there my guess is she would be on the bridge ‘’ Kate replied.

‘’Most probably ‘’ he replied ‘’ Since bridge does not keep us informed , leaving us in the dark about what is happening or what steps they are taking ‘’.

Another crew member came in suffering from nausea and vomiting ,the doctor scanned but he could not determine exactly what the problem was .From the information gathered they both had meals from the Mess ..food poisoning ? He drew blood , put them both on a saline infusion and send a sample of the vomit to the lab , still he was uncertain as they where not having diarrhea ..at least not for now.

There was one a troubling thought yet one he could not exclude =/\= Sickbay to bridge is there an increase in radiation? =/\= .

=/\= Bridge here. This is the Captain speaking, Doctor Hunter. We haven’t identified any increase, but it would be wise to begin to mass-replicate the drug Hydronalin as a precaution anyway. Why do you ask? =/\=

Hunter could then hear the Captain speaking with someone else, most likely the CMO.

Glen replied, =/\= Yes, begin making a stockpile of Hyronalin in case we should need it. =/\=

The doctor made his way to the medical lab ,pulling out the computer and downloading the information he needed .After some time he stared to replicate the hyronalin filling the hyposprays with the exact and precise amount.

Hunter then went looking for the N.O ‘’ Are you free ? I have a batch of hyprosprays filled with hyronalin, do please see that you distribute them on the bridge ,transporter room and security dept ‘’ Kate nodded took the batch and headed out of sickbay.
Hunter then called some junior nurses , sending them to other depts.

Hunter wondered why some of the crew had been effected while others felt nothing .With the two crewmen being discharged he entered the CMO’s office to document what had transpired simple for future information ,now that the data was in the computer he started tackling some paper work.

Cross had just left the bridge and entered her office ,Hunter looked up from the desk , he noticed how quiet the CMO was ‘’ Cross why don’t you go and rest for now ‘’ she nodded ‘’I’ll just lie down on a biobed , I believe the ship will soon go on red alert ,according to the Cmdr ‘’.
Kate was also back, with no patients she pulled out a chair and sat down across Hunter , they looked at each other ,though no words where exchanged both were thinking about what the ship and the crew could soon face .

=/\= Security to sickbay ..doctor Hunter is sickbay ready? Have you followed the Captain’s orders ? We are checking each dept , COS orders =/\= he waited.

=/\= Sharp sickbay is fully prepared ,any injured crew shall be transported to sickbay . The empty cargo has been turned into another sickbay for any injured Aliens , we have also erected cells for any prisoners . Any unknown pathogens we receive shall be marked as bio hazard and on no account shall it leave the erected sickbay =/\= a pause =/\= Cross shall stay in sickbay and if I’m not called for the landing party will handle the injured prisoners ..any questions Sharp? =/\= .

The security rolled his eyes =/\= No doctor ..Sharp out=/\= .

Cross walked in ‘’ Any development ? Any news?’’ she asked .Hunter shook his head ‘’ Nothing so far , take a seat doctor I hope you had a proper rest ‘’ .
The CMO nodded ‘’Yes I feel better physically but psychologically, what we were told about these Aliens I cannot help but worry ‘’ she took a chair and sat down while Kate made coffee for the three of them.

Cross CMO.

A voice sounded from just inside the door that called out. ” Coffee? For a pregnant woman? You need to watch that caffeine intake young lady! ” Joe called out as he entered sickbay. Then without paying attention to anyone else there or to whatever else Cross might think he hugged her and kissed before standing back out of range. Looking around then he beamed and asked looking around. ” How might the people of medicine be doing today?”

On hearing Joe’s voice Cross rolled her eyes though she did give him a slight smile followed by a stern look. She hated showing these emotions in front of crewmen and only accepted them when alone .
Hunter was about to say coffee is fine for someone pregnant as long as it was in moderation but then decided to stay quiet, Kate on the other hand made coffee for all of them including Joe.

‘’Take a seat Joe we were discussing how sickbay is prepared for any eventualities ‘’.

Cross CMO.

Joe as always got a kick from Hunter. He saw him over there acting all stern and quiet. One day he might be able to tell when Joe was joking. But in the meantime, her was pretty much well…not too bright. Of course, Joe knew that women could drink small amounts of coffee when they were pregnant. How could he not? Growing up in the big family as he did someone was always pregnant! As for Miri. She just had to be grumpy as most women were when a man tried to tell them something. On the whole Kate was probably the only one who understood all of them and got a kick from it. After Joe had his coffee, thanked Kate and asked,” Any? That’s a lot of eventualities. You guys must have a pretty big playbook!”

Cross stopped sipping her coffee ‘’ Maybe I should go back on the bridge and see what’s happening ‘’ she suggested while looking at the others for any offered advise .

Hunter spoke first ‘’Cross, just stay here if anything that we should know comes up ,bridge will definitely inform us ‘’ .He also thought that being there would make her more anxious .The doctor gazed at Joe as if too tell him * Help me here *. While Kate suggested they discuss , converse or exchange viewpoints on how sickbay and the medical cargo bay should function.

Joe looked over at Hunter, then to Kate and finally to Cross. He spoke to Cross with a shocked look on his face. ” For once Mister Hunter and myself are in agreement. If anyone on the bridge has a boo-boo they can come to you. And if I remember correctly during situations such as this your assigned post is here in case of emergencies. Just relax doc. ” Joe said. “Anything happens you have the right amount of people for it. Kate for triage, Hunter for serious surgeries and you taking care of all other medical needs. “

’’ Not really , Hunter is suppose to work at the cargo bay we erected for any injured prisoners ,while I stay in sickbay and deal with our crew and.....’’ Cross was interrupted ‘’And what about me! ‘’ .
It was doctor Kim and he didn’t seem to be in a good mood ‘’ Well ‘’ Cross replied ‘’ It seems you have been in your quarters meditating and we’ll have to work out where you’ll work ,according to whatever transpires. Hope if there are any prisoners they don’t carry any unknown pathogens and get our crew infected’‘.

Hunter chirped in ‘’Why you may be called to join the landing party ‘’ his tone was one of amusement ,since doctor Kim had never had been called for a mission before and with good reasons .

Any color in his face drained ‘’What..no..no way ..’’ the CMO cut him short ‘’ Its up to the Captain ,he makes the rules and we follow whether we like it or not ‘’.

Dr Kim disappeared as fast as he came in , then the N.O said something that made Cross’s blood run cold ‘’ From the briefing we were told these creatures could be full of aggression or hostility what if our crew are taken prisoners ? Has anyone thought about that?’’ she looked at the others hoping they could offer some reassurance .

The CMO’s hand instinctively went on her bulging stomach , she stood up taking a few steps backwards ‘’ No..no.. please not again ,I don’t want to lose another son ‘’ .
