He paused only long enough to ensure the channel remained clear.

“That’s him!” Guy said the Richard. “The new COS!”

=/\= Damage control teams to silent standby. Boarding response units on alert, but remain out of sight unless activated. I want rapid-response drills reviewed and internal sensor sweeps doubled—quietly.=/\=

Acknowledgements chimed back in quick succession.

Thalos monitored the confirmations as they came in, antennae subtly shifting as he listened to the ship itself—the hum of systems adjusting, the faint vibration of shields reinforcing. Everything responded exactly as it should.

Guy was confused and asked Richard, “Err…that’s what we’ve been doing. Briefing each other. Staying on silent alert but remaining out of sight. Reviewing the rapid-response drills. Does he want us to stay here and continue to do nothing? We haven’t run any sensor sweeps for a while. How should we respond to him?”

Richard though for a moment then whispered ‘’Tell him we are ready and that we’ re going on the sensor sweeps as we speak …what ever that means ‘’ he replied as a after thought .

Before Guy could reply to the COS, Richard had already begun walking towards the sensory console. “Hey! Do you know what you’re doing on that?”

Sharp was next to the sensory console ,his fingers glided over the buttons .He knew that the ship’s sensors would locate objects or phenomena in space, or otherwise obtain information about something going on outside the ship. Momentum spent on this Task is normally spent on the Obtain Information Momentum Spend .

‘’Guy there’s a torpedo in front of us and the ship seem to be following it’’ he said rather baffled ‘’And lo and behold it seem to be one of ours! ‘’.

“Reaally!” said Guy, imagining all the different kinds of trouble they would be in if it was their fault.

Sharp’s eyes widened ‘’ I think that nursing officer can see the future for I am going to end up cleaning with a toothbrush!’‘

“This is a Reason + Science Task, assisted by the ship’s Sensors + Science, with a Difficulty of 0. Interference, ambient conditions, or particularly unusual or unfamiliar phenomena should increase this Difficulty,” said Majel, the ship’s computer..

‘’I hope the science dept is doing its part and we need to contact bridge.”

Guy was shaking his head, but he couldn’t get any words to come out of his mouth quickly enough to tell him no.

=/\= Sharp from security dept to bridge.....we have located a torpedo which seems very familiar to ours and the ship is stirring its way behind it ........someone please acknowledge ?=/\=.

=/\= Requesting verification,=/\= the COS said calmly, already opening a secure channel. =/\= I want confirmation on origin, chain of custody, and transport authorization. If there’s a casing onboard that wasn’t declared, I need to know how it got here—and who signed off on it. =/\=

“Are you sure that’s what you saw?” Guy asked Richard. “Maybe the sensors have been affected by the Gravity waves? I don’t know what to tell him?”.

‘’What if I just done a blunder ? ‘’ the security asked ‘’And to the new COS of all people !’‘.

“I can’t tell him that!” Guy replied. “His first day here, and I say, Sharp ‘just done a blunder’! I’ll tell him you are running a repeat of the sensor sweep in case of… a lens flare? Or a glitch caused by a spectrograph artifact? You run the scans again. If it is really there, then someone else is in trouble, not us!”

=/\= Good Morning, Sir. Fleegman here! Sharp is repeating the sensor sweep scan cycle in case of spectrographic artifacts caused by the fluctuating power supply. If it’s real, he will triangulate the exact torpedo tube point of origin. =/\= “It certainly couldn’t have come from this cargo hold,” Guy added to Sharp.

The torpedo tube was indeed one of the empty shell casings that was originally going to be used. Somehow it had gotten outside with the debris.

Sharp had heard the orders and made sure the COS ‘s orders where carried out ,then turning to Guy ‘’Guess we may as well head to the shuttle bay ourselves and since we are here take the weapons with us ‘’.

“Do you mean, to head to Deck 8; the Photon Torpedo Launchers? Then yes, it’s probably the best idea. We can find out exactly what’s going on, and if someone is going to get reprimanded and it isn’t either of us, that’ll be fun to watch too!”

Sharp looked at his friend ‘’ You know what I’m going to contact Hunter to see that sickbay is prepared ,won’t bother the CMO in her state. I bet right now he is sitting down looking at his refection in the mirror!’’ finishing off with an evil grin.

Guy was happy to let Richard take the lead on this, but he was puzzled about what he meant by the “CMO in her state?” He must have missed some ship gossip.

=/\= Security to sickbay ..doctor Hunter is sickbay ready? Have you followed the Captain’s orders ? We are checking each dept , COS orders =/\= he waited.

=/\= Sharp sickbay is fully prepared ,any injured crew shall be transported to sickbay . The empty cargo has been turned into another sickbay for any injured Aliens , we have also erected cells for any prisoners . Any unknown pathogens we receive shall be marked as bio hazard and on no account shall it leave the erected sickbay =/\= a pause =/\= Cross shall stay in sickbay and if I’m not called for the landing party will handle the injured prisoners ..any questions Sharp? =/\= .

The security rolled his eyes =/\= No doctor ..Sharp out=/\= .

He closed the comm ‘’Darn that doctor is always one step ahead ‘’ Sharp mumbled.

“Let’s get to the Torpedo Launch Room and find out what has been taking place there. We’ll brief our teams as ordered, and implement these training drills. Sickbay has its own medical protocols to follow as always. It’s best not to interfere with those, and then they will be less likely to try to give us their delivery work to do,” said Guy as he set off.

He opened the comm =/\= Security ,head to your dept this is a drill ..I repeat this is a drill =/\= he quickened his pace to catch up with guy ‘’ We have to put security at the Torpedo Launch room , both sickbays , bridge , transporter room and at the shuttle bay .Is that okay or did I miss something?’‘.
