Morris walked into sickbay and took a look around. He figured he should pop back in and see how everything was going now that they were some time away from Ardan V. He also thought he would make sure that there wasn’t anything more to be done for his physical, since it was completed under less than ideal circumstances.

Hunter saw Morris he recognized him when they boarded the shuttle and made a sign with his hand for the security to enter Cross’s office .The doctor thought some company would do him good.

Morris noticed Dr. Hunter and smiled, “Hello there, Doc,” he said as he entered Cross’s office, “Just thought I’d check in on how thing’s’re going. Also to make sure I’m up to date on my onboarding physical.”

Hunter gave him that small smile of his ‘’ Take a seat want some coffee ?No worries the ship is functioning and all seem to be well ‘’ the doctor replied ‘’I was sure glad to see you coming down with the shuttle much safer then the transporter ‘’ he was glad of the company , it took his mind of what they came across in the tunnels .

’’ Also to make sure I’m up to date on my onboarding physical.”.

‘’What’s your name ‘’ Hunter asked hitting the keys on the computer ‘’ If Cross did your medical and she cleared you for duty , rest assured you have nothing to worry about ‘’ he replied ‘’So what went on when the ship’s engines lost their power shutting every thing down? ‘’.

“Clifford Morris,” He said with a smile, “I’m pretty sure Cross’d given me the all clear, but we were in a state of disarray at the time, so I felt I’d be remiss if I didn’t check up on it.”

Morris took a seat in the office and said, “Honestly, I’d barely started here when everything went down. You’d picked me up just before we got to Ardan IV. I was on my way down to sick bay for my medical when power cut out. It was quite a mess, but Cross and the other officers handled it well. She was very appreciative of the help though, and I like being useful. How about yourself? How was it down at the planet?”

‘’Everything seem to be in order with regards to your medical’’ Hunter replied ‘’About the planet going down into a cave we followed some tunnels and to our surprise found that their were humanoids ,calling themselves the Aenars .They knew about us being there due to their telepathic abilities, when they realized who we were their leader spoke with he Captain ,they just want the mining to be stopped ,its were they live underground.To cut a long story short they said that the Rromulan’s had manipulated their DNA ,they are the second generation while their offspring the third.

The Aenars gave us a crate with their previous DNA and how it was after the manipulation as proof to the Federation council.The Captain promised them that the Federation would take care of their planet as with regards to the mining .They just want to live in peace ‘’ the doctor’s voice took a somber tone ‘’Morris through the manipulation they are blind now ,they can never see their children’s faces ,they can never see the jungle above ‘’ He lowered his head evading Morris gaze ‘’And I as a doctor felt utterly helpless
,incapable and unable to help ‘’ the weariness on his face was clearly evident.

Morris made a sympathetic face, “That feels like rough mission. I’m sorry you had to go through that. Romulans can be right bastards when they want to. Has the captain decided if-” Before he could get finish asking his question, his communicator chimed. He answered it and found it was a hail from Lt. M’Mera calling him to the Gymnasium. “Sorry, Doc,” he said getting up, “But it looks like I’ve been summoned away. I hope we can find time to chat again, sir.” He quickly turned and started making his way towards the gymnasium, as apparently, according to the message, he was already late.

Hunter nodded before the security left ,then got up to make his rounds on the patients to make sure everything was in order . It would soon be time for Cross and the day shift personnel to report for work . He wondered why the crew would calculate whether its day or night ,on the ship there was no sunrise or sunset ......guess it all came down to the roaster.
