From the Engineering party Stella took a deep breath then and called the Merrimack. =/\= This is Lieutenant Gagnon. I’ve just communicated with Doctor Hunter and he assures me that all is going well with the away team. =/\=

As Doctor Cross had now left the Bridge, Cara stepped back to the Communication station and took the message. =/\= Hello Stella. Sorry for the delay, I’m not use to being Comms officer, so please come back soon. I’ll let Commander Sanks know that good news. =/\=

“Commander,” Cara told Roger Sanks, “the two away teams have made contact and both are okay and whatever they are doing down there is going well!”

Orbit was established with no untoward difficulties. Scanners would work normal now.

“That’s good news. We will maintain orbit and be ready for them to be transported back to the ship.” He stated, happy things were finally going well.

From his station, Morris sent out a security page through the ship to have security ready at the transporter room to assist with getting crew to sick bay as well as to potentially escort prisoners to the brig, if needed.

The doctor took out his transmitter flicked it open =/\= Hunter to the Merrimack..do you copy ? =/\=.

The comm call had some interference and static in it but it was intelligible despite the Away Team being so far below ground and with so much rock between them. If the ship scanned it would see the Engineering team still within the mining colony and interacting with the miners. As well they would see where the Away Team was so far below ground and within a cavern feature with a lot of Andorian type people. They would also have a schematic of the Aenar city, its warren and cavelike dwellings.

After some colorful words Hunter continued =/\= The Captain needs to know if you can get a hold on us and transport us back to the ship when he gives the order =/\= then decided on more information =/\= We are far below ground while the rest of the team is on the surface ..do you acknowledge ! =/\= it was more of an exclamation then a question.

Cara replied to Troy =/\= Sorry! Just checking! =/\=

“Dr. Hunter says that the Captain wants to know if we can get a hold on them underground and transport them back to the ship if he gives the order,” Cara asked the XO.

Hunter rolled his eyes Finally he thought =/\= Thanks Cara =/\= the doctor replied while he waited for her to check.

The bridge could get a clear transport signal for the Engineering team in the colony but not the Away Team below ground.

It would not be a good idea to try to transport out through that much rock and with a staticky signal. Better if they transported above the ground.

Morris took a reading from his console and said, “it looks like we could get the Engineering team out, but I don’t trust our signal going through that much interference for the rest of the away team underground. They’ll have to surface for us to get a better lock on them.”

“I’ll let him know,” replied Cara.

=/\= Cara to Troy.. The Transporter department are fine to return the other party, but reluctant to beam up yourselves from so deep underground. The interference might mean you came back as fossils. You should have taken pattern enhancers with you. Cara out!”

With his phobia of the transporter Hunter gulped =/\= Shall definitely pass on the message to the Captain ! =/\= the doctor exclaimed =/\= Hunter out =/\= he kept staring at the transmitter wondering why Cara mentioned pattern enhancer ,shrugging his shoulders Hunter approached Glen.

The Cmdr had promised to keep her informed yet she had heard nothing. Cross stepped on the bridge looking around she saw Morris and gave him a nod, then made a beeline to where Cara was ‘’Any news or new developments ? ‘’ the CMO asked clearly worried about the away party ‘’ Do we have any knowledge of their status and situation ? ‘’.

Morris returned the nod and focused on working with the transporters to help lock onto the away team.

“Thank you, Ms. Cara and Mr. Morris. I appreciate your assistance.” Lt. Cmdr. Sanks stated to the scientist and security officer. “Doctor, I was about to check in with you. We have made orbit again around the planet, we have setup security at the transporters as a just in case, we will need some medical staff there as well, in case anyone needs it. We have worked out that we can safely lock on and transport from the surface, but the team that is further underground the planet, is a little more risky to attempt, and advised against transporting them until they get surface side.” He replied to Doctor Cross.

Cross nodded relieved that they had made contact ‘’ Thanks Cmdr , I’m sure the Captain will give the orders for beaming them up in a cautious and secure manner for all concerned ‘’.

Having know Glen more then anyone else she knew his first priority would be the crew’s safety ‘’Hopefully it won’t be long before they are all safely back and not in any serious and immediate danger ‘’ for the CMO the hours seemed to drag on and on.

“Maybe we ought to bring up the Engineer’s group from the surface while we still can?” Cara asked. “…in case the Transporter goes on the fritz again? I wish I was down there speaking with Aenar. They are a very unusual species to find.”

’’ I believe it would be safer to bring them up in a shuttle ‘’ Cross replied looking at the Cmdr waiting for his opinion on the matter.

’’ Maybe you will ‘’ the CMO replied ‘’ To be honest I don’t know why the Captain did not take you as well and left ..em what’s her name ah Stella at the comms but then again how was he to know of their existence ‘’.

“I see your point, about the safety of the transporter, but do we really want to risk more people going down there in a shuttle?” He asked, thinking out loud. “But, if that shield thing happens to come back online, and we have to face that issue again, a shuttle would probably be the better option. Officer Meow, would you like to go in the shuttle to the planet? You may have your chance to speak with the Aenar when you land.” He continued.

’’ That is also my concern if that interference come back on again during transposition we’ll have a pile of pulps on the transporter pads ‘’ Cross replied shuddering at the very thought and with good reason for she new next to nothing about what was happening ‘’ May I suggest Morris as a security go with Cara as well?’‘. The CMO knew the security well from her experience with him when everything on the ship stopped working .
