Morris tried, and failed, to keep up with all the science talk going on. He longed for something to just shoot at.

Suddenly a familiar voice came over the comms, =^=M’Merra to USS Merrimack! Brridge, are you therre?=^=

Cara decided that operating Comms wasn’t the job for her. Too many voices speaking at once and she was not responsible for the number and type of probes sent. She put the call on speakerphone and stepped away from the comms to let Dr. Cross step closer.

It took Cross by surprise so much so that she took a moment before replying =/\= M’Merra finally !=/\= she exclaimed =/\= We hear you loud and clear ..is the landing party safe ? Are there any injuries ? I’ll inform the Captain everything about what happened to the ship but tell him its still in one piece =/\= the CMO was heard chuckling ,she had been worried , having thoughts occupied with unpleasant things and events that have happened or that may happen,it was now that Cross realized the mental state she had been in....... concerned, apprehensive and anxious .

=^=The Captain iss rright herre and I’m ssurre he’ss rrelieved to hearr the sship iss in one piece. Wass the sship in dangerr? I know the communicationss did not worrk as we arre standing herre with the people who caussed it. I don’t think they will interrferre anymorre.=^=

=/\= Hope not!! =/\= Cross exclaimed =/\= Cause everything stopped working from the engine’s to a simple medical tricoder .The ship went to total darkness for some time but thanks to our engineers they got them working again and the ship was able to move further away from the planet ,had they not done so tell the Captain he would have seen his ship falling from the sky =/\=

M’Mera returned to the comm to the bridge,=^=The Aenarr’ss ssay they have disscontinued the interrferrence they werre caussing to the machinerry. Thingss should be fine now.=^=

Lt. M’Mera COS

Morris stepped closer to the comms station to hear the discourse between the doctor and M’Mera. According to his transfer papers, M’Mera was his CO who he was supposed to have been meeting shortly. “Excuse me,” he said looking back at the console from where he had launched the probes. He wanted to see if they were still under the effects of the field or if they were now responding, =/\= Lt. M’Mera, have you and the captain been able to disengage the dampening field on the planet? =/\=

OOC: Communications should be put between =/\= and =/\= or =^= and =^= (if you prefer) rather than ” and ” for speech, and also copy them to another thread if necessary. (I’ve edited and copied that to Tunnels.) When you do copy, it may be only some of the conversation that can be heard at the other end. That’s entirely up to you (and the GM).

While we are here, we also put thoughts between * and * . So, that can’t be heard by the other characters (unless they are telepathic obviously).

Cross listened to Morris ‘’ Say since M’Mera made contact with us meaning what was interfering with the comms is no longer there I’ll try to contact the team on the surface ‘’.

She flicked open her transmitter while grumbling about such an outdated method they had to use.

Cross CMO.

Lt Cmdr. Sanks stepped off the turbolift from sickbay and walked onto the bridge. He had listened Chief Medical Officer Cross update him on the situation since he collapsed. He heard them talking to the away team, so he stood in front of his chair on the bridge and listened to them. “that’s a good question, cause I don’t think we should approach the planet again until that shield is turned off.” He stated. “We found the source, or where you think it’s coming from on the planet, have we tried to see what would happen if we tried to fire at it? May be a last resort type idea, but I’d like to know if it may be a card to have on the table.” He suggested.

’’ Cmdr I personally don’t think that’s an option we should consider since the COS has managed to make contact , which means whatever was interfering is not there any more and I’m waiting for Guy to respond if he does we would have made contact with all the landing party ‘’.

Cross didn’t blame him for the suggestion, after all he had just come out of sickbay .

=/\= Glad to hear your voice and yes we’re okay , Lt M’Mera has also made contact with us =/\= Cross replied back. She was hoping that the away party would soon be transported back on the ship .

“While firing on the source of the field was my thought as well, sir,” Morris said to the XO, “Unfortunately, the source seems to be where the landing party was and could still be, which is what prevented us from taking that action. Currently, I am trying to reestablish contact with the probes we launched in order to see if the field is in fact out of commission. If so, then we should be safe to move back into orbit and get the crew back aboard.”

Cross stood quietly listening ,she fully agreed with what Morris said and did not blame the Cmdr since it seemed that it was now that he fully grasped what had happened . After all the CMO had only briefed him on what she knew , taking care of the injured she was neither on the bridge nor at the engineering dept . Cross eyes fell on the security for she had already warmed up to him, having helped her with the unfortunate injured crew member who had been stuck in the jefferies tubes.
