So, I found a job, have a steady schedule and income again, so now it’s time to get back on track and get things moving again in a positive direction…So storyline wise, from what I gather, the away team has been separated, the ship is functioning again, but no longer near the planet the away team is on…
I appreciate all of you.
Lt. Cmdr. III, Number OneYes, that’s a good summary. There aren’t that many posts to read. Your character was taken to Sickbay rather than standing on the Bridge unresponsive. You can give him some medical backstory for being absent and take over on the Bridge again.
There are two away teams - one on the surface with engineering and science supposedly finding out the reason the problem (who the ship has made contact with) - the other underground physically going to the source of the problem, who have just met some aggressive strangers in the tunnels (who the ship has not contacted, but the other party has tracked life-signs).

I put you in sickbay you were in a catatonic state ,did so as we waited for your return. I’ll get you out so you can return to the bridge and glad you’re back on your feet :)
martheseJust to reiterate, I expect my XO to post (at least) every five days with quality posts that move the Sim forward. I also expect them to be able to act in place of the Captain while I am on a LOA (which isn’t very often). Please read the email sent to you when you applied for the position. I was quite explicit about this then.
I’ve allowed you four months to find a job, have a steady schedule and income again. If you are unable to commit to posting every five days then please let me know now and save me some time later. In The last 18 months, four members of this crew (including myself) attended the Emergency Department, were admitted to hospital, or both, and yet they all continued to post regularly, or at the very least, they were not AWOL and communicated when they would return. So, any other excuses don’t really wash with me much.
On the broader subject of AWOLs, I’ve been a Captain about 23 years with no significant AWOLs, and I’ve had almost everything happen that could possibly happen during that time. So, yes, there is a little of the, “if I can do it, why can’t anyone else?” I don’t make any apologies for that.
There is a recent thread in Command on the subject of AWOLs which is killing this club. They are not going to accept multiple strings of LOAs followed by short AWOLs any longer. They are discussing bringing up stats on the frequency of posts to see who is ‘gaming the system’ and who is actually posting on a regular basis.
In addition to making regular posts within their posting limits, I also require from ALL crew, some quality posting. I’ve said this to everyone who has joined us, but I want posts that produce conversations - with open questions; who, why, what, where questions. Do some research before you reply if you don’t know your trek lore. I don’t want to see posts that say “give me an update please” because this is NOT a busy ship - the entire last two years would take less than 60 minutes to read. Everyone ought to be reading every post made. For example, if there is an explosion in Engineering, don’t you think that will also affect Science, the Bridge or Sickbay too?
I apologise that I have allowed way too many AWOLs this year, but I’ve been busy myself and attended hospital and had trouble not going AWOL myself. I will take a short LOA next week. When I return I will need to remove all the persistent AWOLs (who I have already contacted several times by email, so there is no excuse). They should accept this as a final warning.

I know its not my job to do so but when someone has been AWOL I contact them ,going as far as to explain about the sim. Charlie wrote back he would post two days ago he didn’t , the other two did not acknowledge .You are right David why decide to take on a character when one knows he/she won’t be fully committed? Its not fair on the other players.
