Cross decided too head to the Dragon Bar ,she was both hungry and tired while cursing the Jeffries tubes making a mental note that if and when they return to Earth she’ll make her way to the Federation H.Q and demand that stairs be build .

As the CMO entered the bar she looked around for either Joe or D’Nesh ..if they were not there Cross would fix something to eat herself .

All seemed quiet as Cross popped her head looking around ‘’Great little baby to-day we shall eat real food ‘’ and so she began to prepare macaroni and cheese …her favorite .

Joe was beneath the counter counting his bananas. He popped his head up and seeing Miri said with delight in his eyes. “, Did someone say baby? A good meal you say. “How does a nice roast beef sandwich sound? Topped with your choice of cheeses and or condiment served on a heated wheat bread bun with jalapeno peppers on the side just in case you like that sort of thing. ” Joe beamed from ear to ear then and said, ” Good to see you two alive again. Did anyone find out what the problem was?”

Cross kept on making her favorite dish ‘’No thanks ‘’ she replied ‘’Keep counting your bananas ‘’.

” Good to see you two alive again. Did anyone find out what the problem was?”.

‘’Like wise I’m glad to see you are noticeably alright ‘’ the doctor moved towards a table with a plate full of Macaroni with cheese ‘’How should I know just glad the power is back .Oh and by the way I have decided that our son’s name shall be Victor ‘’ and with that she kept on eating.

While Joe frowned at the name a small smile appeared as he asked with an amazed voice. ” Victor? Really? I mean won’t people call him Vicky or something?” Joe then broke and stated to laugh as he went over and carefully kissed Cross on the cheek, not wanting to interrupt her as she fed. ” No, I don’t care. You’re doing all the work you can name him.”

Cross was expected Joe to throw a tantrum but when he kissed her she smiled and kissed him back ‘’Its Victoria which would shorten to Vicky ,as for Victor his name would be shorten for Vic ,anyway that’s not really important is it ? You call me Miri !’’ she exclaimed would a hint of humor ‘’But thanks for letting me choose the name I might be doing all the work for now but....’’ the doctor stopped momentarily lest her voice would break ‘’ In reality your family is going to do all the work from then on’‘.

Joe laughed at that one. ” Yeah, the kid will grow up like a Bedouin. My family is scattered all over. From all over Earth and out to Rigel. He’ll be the most loved and best educated kid around. And we do get leave times on occasion you know. “

Cross nearly choked on her food ,it took her a good five minutes of coughing before she could speak ‘’Bedouin? Are you nuts ! Years ago I did go to the Judean’s desert and met some of this nomads and how they live and I can tell you its pretty darn hot ‘’ the doctor replied.

Joe only smiled and said to her. ” Yes, but you learned something. And you became a better person for it. That’s something anyone should try to do is to see other places, eat different food and make new friends.”

‘’Yeah and die of heatstroke !’’ Cross exclaimed ‘’And when I took a dip in the dead sea I come out looking like a puffer fish ,it took three days for the swelling to go down’’ she started to feel nauseated apparently they had different views of how to raise a child ‘’My poor baby ‘’ Cross sniffed.
