The ship’s new helmsman had boarded the USS Merrimack and knew exactly where he was going. The ships layout was exactly the same as the ship he previously served aboard. His first posting out of the Academy had been the USS Bellerophon, another Mariner-class ship, so it was easy to find his way around.

He had stored his gear in his quarters on deck 3 and made his way back to sickbay on deck 5.

Eros stepped into sickbay, and as the doors swooshed close behind him, he reached out to a passing nurse and introduced himself.

“Excuse me nurse, I’m Lt. (jg) Dionysovich. I’m here for my medical check-in.”

“Welcome, Lt. Please take a seat on bio-bed 2 and someone will be with you shortly,” the nurse replied.

Eros thanked her a hopped onto the bio-bed and waited. . . .

The nurse went to fetch the CMO ‘’There’s a new recruit at bio -bed 2 for his medical ‘’. Cross made her way to the said location ,for those that did not know her the slight bulging stomach was nothing more then perhaps she could do with some exercise and a diet.

’’ Hi I’m doctor Cross ‘’ she said by way of introducing herself while offering her hand ‘’Just lie down and relax ‘’ picking up the medical tricoder and attaching the diagnostic wand.The female doctor looked at the man steadily and intently ‘’ Is there anything I should know before I start scanning ? ‘’ she asked .

Eros shook the doctors hand, before lying back. “Lt. Dionysovich, doctor. Pleasure to meet you.”

Adjusting himself comfortably on the bio bed, he added, “If there’s something wrong inside, doc, I have yet to hear about it.”

Indeed, the scan results would show that Eros was in peak physical shape except for one minor flaw–an artificial tendon replacement in his left shoulder.

Once finished and read the scanning Cross turned to Dionysovich ‘’Just an artificial tendon which I’m sure you know about ‘’ she remarked ,then extended her hand to help him get up ‘’From the medical side you’re cleared for duty Lt and if at some point the tendon gives you problems just check in sickbay ‘’ .

“Thank you,” Eros replied as he sat up. “It’s an old baseball injury from when I was younger. Ripped that tendon clear off the rotator. No complaints, though, since it was repaired. Works better than the original.”
