His sift had ended and Hunter was drying his wet hair with a towel ,he was wearing only his trousers black satin sleepwear , the shirt had been tossed on the bed,it had been a long day and the doctor simply wanted to relax with soft music in the background,he whistled along with the tune .

Hunter Dr.

The rest of the day seemed to drag by so slowly after she had left sockbay, and the end of her shift couldn’t get here fast enough for her. When it finally ended she checked to make sure there hadn’t been an emergency in sickbay, and quickly made her way to Hunter’s Quarters. She rang the chime and waited for him to answer. She was excited and nervous she couldn’t stand still.

Layanna, Number One

When he heard the chime , Hunter who was drying his hair with a towel stopped wondering who could it be ‘’Hope noting is wrong with the Captain’’ he muttered while throwing the towel on the bed and ran his fingers through his hair...... a substitute for the brush.
‘’Enter ‘’ the doctor called out and as the door swished open he saw who it was. His smile was not the usual small one ,not this time Hunter smiled broadly .

The normally and mostly reserved doctor opened his arms ‘’Layanna,my dear Layanna ‘’ he called out to her.

Hunter Dr.

Layanna glaced over her shoulder quickly before running into a Hunter’s embrace! “Oh how I’ve missed you!” She said as she laid her head against his chest.

Layanna, XO

He hugged her tightly ,now looking down into her eyes, the usual reserved doctor replied ‘’When we got separated on different academy ships,I truly felt lost without you.It took me months to adjust when it finally dawned on me that I’ll probably would not ever see you again and had to move on ‘’.

Layanna tilted her head up toward Hunter’s “I’m here now, and I’m not going any where” she said as she reached up and placed her hand on his cheek.

For a moment Hunter closed his eyes feeling her hand caressing his cheek.

As memories came tumbling Hunter smiled ‘’Remember the things we came up with? To-day I wonder how we managed to pass the academy !’’ his laugh was genuine ‘’ We would leave our windows slightly open, so we could crawl back to our dormitory without the security catching us in the wee hours of the morning after dancing and drinking all night’‘.

There was a pause before he spoke again ‘’We’re now older but no wiser ‘’ .
If the Captain or Cross had been present they would surly come to the conclusion that Hunter had lost his mind and would need psychiatric treatment.

Hunter Dr.

She giggled “to bad there isn’t any windows we could leave unlocked on the ship” she said as she leaned away from him. She had been in such a hurry to come see him she didn’t change after her shift had ended. She pulled the tie from her hair and let her it fall as it wanted.

He ran his fingers through her long hair ‘’Your hair was shorter back then ‘’ .

She took a deep breath as she spoke “how have you been?” She asked as she laid her head back down on his chest.

Royal, Number One.

‘’Not bad just the usual ups and downs working in sickbay both as a doctor and a surgeon. The surroundings and conditions in which sickbay operates I can say the environment is familiar territory to me’‘.

Maybe he took her by surprised when the doctor picked her up and laid her down on her back on his bed then he lied down beside her ‘’What about you? Do you have a family of you own?’’ Hunter asked.

Hunter Dr.

Layanna inhaled deeply as Hunter picked her up and layer her on the bed. When he asked I’d she had a family her expression turned to sadness. She turned to face him, and propped her self up with her hand. ” I had a family” she said bearly above a whisper. She didn’t want to talk about it but she knew Hunter would understand. After a moment she snuggled into Hunter and cried softly.

Hunter held her as she softly cried ,he was looking vacantly in the distance and cursing himself for asking.

Hunter Dr.

After a while the ters subsided and she looked up at Hunter “I’m sorry!” She said. She knew he deserved an explanation, but she just wasn’t ready to talk about it.

Royal, Number One.

‘’I understand ‘’ Hunter said softly as he moved her on to the bed which was covered by dark red pure silk sheets ,self indulgence maybe .Laying her head on the pillow he bent over and from underneath the bed pulled out his guitar ‘’Remember how I would play while we looked at the San Fransisco bay during the night ,to me it felt magical back then’‘. He now positioned himself with a pillow behind his back and hit a few strings but not before the doctor ran his hand through Layanna’s long hair ‘’This song may give you an insight of who I am now ‘’ .

Layanna ran her hand down Hunter’s chest as he repositioned her on the bed. She let her hand linger for a moment before he pulled away from her. Once he had gotten comfortable she layed her head on his shoulder and listened as he sang!

As he sung she clung to him. She wondered what would have been if they had never been separated all those years ago. Would it have been Hunter and their child that she had lost, or would they have lived happily ever after.

As he finished the song she moved to where she was facing him. For a moment she just looked at him, and gently pushed at his guitar out of her way. She leaned in and let her lips brush his .

Royal, Number One

He closed his eyes and felt that tingling sensation as their lips touched briefly, putting the guitar on the floor Hunter laid down ‘’Dear Layanna you’re not my baby sister anymore ‘’ he said as he started to caress her face a gentle and loving touch ,yet Layanna would never know the inner demons that tormented him.

Hunter Dr.

Layanna let out a soft moan as Hunter caressed her cheek, and leaned into his hand. She kissed his plam as she took his hand in hers and pulled it close to her chest. “I haven’t been your little sister for a long time.”

‘’I know ‘’ he whispered back.

She leaned in and kissed him again, and let her hand roam over his bare chest. She inhaled deeply as she invited him in.

He’s whole being wanted her but the doctor could not ‘’My dear just as I don’t know you as a grown woman ,you don’t know me ‘’ he tried to find the right words without hurting her feelings but Hunter also understood that she deserved to be told the truth ‘’ I have no intentions of having a relationship with anyone ,especially a member of the crew ....the last thing I want is to hurt you Layanna .........as I said I’m playing solitaire ‘’ .
