Medical wasn’t for the weak, the most Ryder could stand was a check in and maybe a visit when he got hurt. He didn’t like hospitals, and he sure as heck didn’t like doctors.

Drinking with them? That’s fine, but having to talk about his problems?? Pass.

But regardless of that he chimed the door, waiting patiently in the small waiting room.

The nursing officer was passing by and saw the new recruit ‘’Hi there.I’m Kate shall I assume you’re here for the medical in which case please follow me’’ she led him to a nearby biobed ‘’ The CMO is on duty ‘’ she cracked her neck seeing Cross in her office ‘’ I’ll fetch her ‘’ she was about to walk away ‘’ she’s nice but refrain from calling her Ma’am cause she hates it ‘’ and went away.

About five minutes later the female doctor appeared ‘’Sorry to have kept you waiting but was going through a pile of Padds ‘’ .The Ensign would hear her mutter ‘’I’ll murder that doctor ‘’.
‘’By the way I’m doctor Cross ‘’ and extended her hand ‘’Just lie down and relax ‘’ picking up the medical tricoder and the diagnostic wand Cross made eye contact with the young man with those red eyes of hers that seem to be on fire ‘’Is there anything I should know before I start the scanning?’‘.

OOC: Does the scan pick anything up?.

Cross CMO.

“Hello Doctor Cross… ummm the only thing I can think of is my iron deficiency. It’s a constant problem but nothing that will effect my work.” He laid on the bed, trying to keep his heart rate under control.

“I at least hope there is nothing else.”

OOC: the iron problem and dehydrated but that’s It!

Cross read the scan and frowned ‘’How come you are dehydrated ?’’ she asked ‘’ And about the iron deficiency, were you at some point given iron tablets or via a hypospray?’’ as she waited for his answer the CMO decided to take a blood sample to be analyzed.

Cross CMO.

“Ah? Well I’m not sure about the dehydration, probably forgot to hydrate today to be honest. And yes the hypospray is usually what I am given, though I can take the tablets as well.” He stayed still for the blood sample, pointedly not looking at what the doctor was doing. It didn’t hurt but he didn’t want to see it.

Cross straightened up ‘’ Ryder one does not get dehydrated for not drinking just for a day,now if you told me you were transported directly from the Sahara dessert dehydration would be expected ‘’.

So the doctor went about inserting a vein-flow and attached a saline infusion ‘’ Guess you’re going to spend a few more hours in sickbay ,might as well take a nap , meanwhile I’ll go and analyze the blood and I’ll tell Kate to bring you some water to drink ‘’.

Cross CMO.

“The stress from the week leading up to this took a toll. A nap sounds wonderful though” He curled up slightly on the bed, clonking out as soon as his eyes closed. A nice nap was needed.

He was sure someone would wake him up when it was time to move/leave.

It wasn’t long before he would hear the female doctor calling ‘’Wake y wake y ‘’ she called out while taking off the empty saline bag and removing the vein flow ‘’You do indeed need iron supplement ‘’ .
Cross handed him a bottle of iron tablets ‘’Two each day and come back after you finish them so I could again check your blood for anemia ‘’.

The CMO hoped there was no underlying condition that had brought on the anemia ‘’You’re cleared for duty Ensign Ryder ‘’ she did not want to worry him but he had to know ‘’At least for the time being’‘.
