All was back to normal in sickbay ,though some of the crew came in with minor injuries ‘’I was in one of the Jeffrey tubes when the ship began to sway violently and I fell ‘’ he told a nurse. Cross smiled she guessed everyone would come in with an exaggerated story of how they had got injured.

Cross told the young man that he was now safe and would soon be taken home from the station.

Glen thought that he should visit the young man in Sickbay in person, to welcome him aboard, as it were. He could never think to understand how the man might feel being the only person left alive from the USS Trudoguard. While he was there he could apologise for throwing everyone else around during the rescue.

Glen walked into Sickbay and found Dr. Cross. “Hello. I know you thought it reckless, but it worked! How are your patients?”

Cross smiled,’’ Yes it worked since the ship is still in one piece and you managed to bring the guy alive.’’ She then pointed at the patients, ‘’They are still a bit drowsy as Dr Kim has put the last skin grafts to cover the larger wounds, as for the psychological impact who knows what will work for them in the long term ‘’.

“And the psychological effects may last longer than the physical signs of injury,” Glen added. “Both these men were the only ones to survive from their ships. People in those situations often ask, ‘why me’, and there is often no answer to that question, of course.”

Cross couldn’t agree more for she saw it first hand years ago when working in the ER before joining the academy ‘’ Once four men were working in the sewers ,they opened one of the tunnels and three of them died due to the toxic waste presence of contaminated bacteria fumes dangerous to inhale ,one survived and he could not accept why he lived and his friends died ‘’ she recalled.

OOC: this is true ,the man who survived was a pt of ours.

The CMO was interrupted by Dr Kim who decided to pass between them giving a quick nod to the Captain, as his feet shuffled on the floor giving the impression that he was moving fast .Cross kept looking at him ‘’ He gives the impression that he’s in a hurry , when in reality its as if he is running on the spot…strange guy he is ‘’ the female doctor remarked.

Glen stood back to give Dr. Kim more room to pass, and also watched him shuffle by. “That is rather strange behaviour,” Glen said. “Speaking of which, are you quite sure that you have a handle of everything down here? There was some reports of a disturbance earlier… some raised voices… not very conducive to patient recovery. And I know you have been under a bit of stress recently. Even if Joe being here has helped, do you need some time off… a holiday on Risa together maybe? The Merrimack has been promised two weeks for leave.”

‘’Mmm.. strange indeed I never have seen him mingle with any of the crew on his days off and knows next to nothing about his personal life,he speaks when absolutely necessary ,though it does not bother me , he’s always punctual and not only a good doctor but specialize in plastic surgery .He’s the doctor that took care of the burns of the one we saved first’’ the female doctor shrugged ‘’ Guess all of us have different characters....don’t you agree Captain? ‘’.

‘’As to your other question yes we did have some commotion but its all settled, nothing to worry about it was a chain reaction… Hunter, Joe,the N.O, D’Nesh, the dentist oh and myself ‘’ at this point she smiled ‘’ Thinking about it now ,it happened quite like a movie script ,don’ worry the patient was being taken care off by doctor Kim who through it all never bat an eyelid’’ .

The CMO was about to say something when it hit her what the Captain had just said ‘’Really ? You mean it? ‘’ she asked surprised then thought it was about time he knew.

’’ Glen I’m with child and Joe is the father ,no one else knows for now , its still early days ‘’ Cross whispered ‘’Its what we both decided we wanted ‘’.
