Cross shift finally ended and she slowly made her way to her quarters, once inside she took a shower and settled in bed exhausted .So many thoughts where going on in her mind about the last time she had talked to Joe.

He was angry and she did not have a clue as to why , he said he would still be her friend, was that all she meant to him? Truth be told Cross had not minced her words telling him he broke he’s promise not to tell anyone about the two of them deciding to have a baby ,not only did he not keep his word he had asked Hunter to be her physician .Of all people he had to tell the male doctor and for some reason Hunter had an altercation with him ,when she suggested a meeting between the three of them Joe had been enraged by her suggestion, now the situation had become even more complicated.

She tossed and turned, tired as Cross was she could not sleep .In a way she fully understood why Hunter acted the way he did and it was not only the altered gene but he saw first hand when Joe had left and how it effected her…he simple did not trust the guy .His words echoed in her mind ‘He left you once,twice what’s to stop him for leaving you again!’.

The female doctor slid her hand over her abdomen ,a little life was growing inside her…would this child ever know her biological father ?.
