Hunter who had left sickbay came barging back in the CMO’s office closing the door behind him ‘’Cross what’s this about wanting a child with that ..with that man’’ he voice was raised ‘’ He left you twice and now you want his child ,someone you cannot depend on! Have you lost your mind?’’ he slowed down taking a deep breath the doctor continued ‘’The gene you carry have you forgotten ?Do you want to pass it on to your child where a thin veil exist between sanity and insanity’‘

Then he went on a rampage .......
‘’Dominant refers to a relationship between two versions of a gene. If one is dominant, the other one must be not dominant. In that case, we call it recessive. A dominant gene, or a dominant version of a gene, is a particular variant of a gene, which for a variety of reasons, expresses itself more strongly all by itself than any other version of the gene which the person is carrying, and, in this case, the recessive. Biochemically, what is going on in this case is that the genetic variation, for a variety of reasons, can either induce a function in a cell, which is either very advantageous or very detrimental, which the other version of the gene can’t cover up or compensate for ‘’

Cross who was behind her desk , casually looking at the crazy doctor and in a bemused way replied ‘’You look more handsome when you’re angry doctor ,anyway thanks for the lecture but its a bit too late conception has already occurred’‘.

She opened the door ‘’ Hunter when you left this morning it seemed you were about to drop dead ,so I suggest you swallow a couple of sleeping pills and go to sleep… hopefully for another hundred years or so ‘’.

In truth Cross was aware of passing on the gene ,though now she knew way more about how to handle it then before so was not unduly worried but something inside her was brewing ,the female doctor had told Joe to keep it a secret .So not only did he broke the promise but told the one person that Cross had decided that Hunter would be the last person on the ship to find out.

After a twelve hour sift Cross finally left sickbay heading to her quarters. After showering the doctor started pacing around, she was waiting for Joe to finish his shift in the hope of him coming to her quarters..Cross lost count of how many times she looked at the time .
