Before she continued her work in sickbay Cross wanted to find out if Joe was truly on the ship and without wasting any time she headed to the Lounge .Once inside the female doctor looked around while observing the surroundings ,there was hardly anyone present at this time .

Making her way to the bar, Cross gave every indication as with regards of catching sight of finding the man and rekindling what ever was still present between them .....though she could not shake of the thoughts of what Hunter had told her.
* He broke your heart twice you love him but does he really loves you! *.

Joe had been working hard getting the lounge up to his own standards of what such a place should look like. Then of course he’d had to go to sickbay and then see the captain and was supposed to see the XO next but he felt gritty as heck, so he had stopped on the way back to the lounge to take a shower. Only now as he entered the lounge with the intent of getting the coolers up and running did he see Miriam from behind leaning up against the bar. He gave out a whistle and said,” Well I hope the rest of the clientele looks like you this WILL be a class joint!” Laughing then as he moved to the bar Joe said to Miriam, “I hadn’t seen you yet I thought maybe you had been left behind or forgot about me! “.

On hearing him whistle Cross rolled her eyes then turned to face him ‘’I nearly did, was about to hand in my resignation to stay on the station with you ‘’ she prodded his chest with her finger at the word ‘You’ ‘’But Hunter stopped me in my tracks ,he told me to think with what brain cells I have left ‘’.
Now the doctor looked him squarely in the eye ‘’ Hunter told me how can you possibly love me when already did a runner twice ..tell me the truth Joe the whole truth ‘’.

 Joe smiled his crooked smile as Miri poked him in the chest and chattered all at the same time.  As she finished, he just shook his head and walked away from her as he went behind the bar. He got himself and Miri both glasses of cold water. As he pushed Miriam's   across the bar to her, he said in a playful voice, "Well your first mistake is listening to that silly busy body Hunter about anything! And then there's the fact that we've already hashed over my first run. As for my most recent one. Well okay you can call that a run technically I suppose but .. " Joe paused as he shrugged his shoulders.   "That Doctor Wong hit the nail on the head. I needed a break from the fleet. I wasn't feeling as if I was doing my job properly. Like I was pretty much useless. And that's just something I can't stand in myself or others.  So, I went a wandering. "

Joe looked at Miri and spoke after a moment saying and as for anything else you know I always find my way back to you no matter how far away we be parted, nor what may lie between us. So either I love you or I’m some sort of fool that they have no name for yet.”

Cross picked up the glass of water and listened to what Joe was saying ‘’ I’m sorry for I was not aware of what you had been going through back then..forgive me my bad ‘’ .
Putting down the now the empty glass Cross spoke in hardly audible voice ‘’ Guess what ever you do I still cannot help myself but to love you’‘.
