Lance had found his quarters, he didn’t pay much attention to them, they were literally a place to sleep, keep stuff and get dressed. Lance was rather prone to being focused on things to a point where he could forget the world around him. Some people might consider this a problem, Lance didn’t understand these sorts of people. He was more than looking forward to getting into the lab, being on the same planet and studying the same thing was great but the prospect of lots of different planets was sending him to almost giddy levels of excitement. But before he got to the labs he had jobs to do, he had a list of things to do. And currently top of that list was his boarding medical.

Luckily unlike the space station the Merrimack had deck plans so after only 4 dead ends he found the sick bay. Never his favourite place, it was full of sick people, and always less interesting that his lab.

He enetred the sickbay and looked for anyone who seemed free, spotting someone who looked like they weren’t already involved with something else. “Err Good afternoon, I believe I’m ment to see someone about a boarding medical?” he asked.

The nursing officer made her way towards him,she could not recall seeing him before and through experience was quick to come to the conclusion that he was there for his medical ‘’Hello I’m Kate would you care to follow me please ‘’ then pointing to an empty biobed ‘’ I’ll go and fetch a doctor ‘’ and off she went.

She knew doctor Hunter was busy doing another medical ,so she popped her head inside the CMO’s office ‘’Cross there is a new crew member for his medical’‘.
‘’ I suppose the paper work can wait’’ she murmured getting up and headed to were Kate directed and pointed out the location of the biobed.

‘’Hi I’m doctor Cross ‘’ she smiled while extending a hand ‘’ I suppose you’re here for your medical?’’ she asked the young man.

Lance nodded to the nurse and quietly followed her, he had learnt the hard way several years ago not to argue with nurses, they could be very scary and it was just best to do as they said. He found his way to the bip bed and flashed the nurse his best and most charming grin. “Thanks nurse Kate.” He said cheerfully. Far more cheerfully than he felt. Sickbays always made him nervous, twitchy and longing to be back on the other side of the doors.

‘’You’re welcome ‘’ Kate replied waving at Lance as she made her way back to changing the dressing of one clumsy crew member .

And it took Lance more than a little self control not to leg it out of the sick bay. But soon a doctor was with him. “Oh…Me? Er yes Sir… Doctor. Lt Malone here for my medical.” He rushed tripping over his words. “As you can see I’m alive and stuff so all fit for duty”

‘’So I see but lets do the scanning first shall we ‘’ Cross easily picked up that Lt Malone would prefer to be anyplace but sickbay.

‘’Just relax doctors don’t usually bite ‘’ she said in a rather cheerful manner to try and put the young man at ease ‘’ Is there anything I should knew before starting ?’’ Cross asked the same usual questions .
