NE Pillets nearby who was helping NE Spek with more medical related gatherings and providing security overwatch came over then, “..Sir Spek has had a chance to go through the first samples you took of the water, as well as blood samples..” he said handing over a PADD before returning to Spek.

Glen took the PADD from Pillets, but he handed it to Hunter and Verity to explain the science to him in simple language. From the general exclamations of surprise, and the nodding of heads, that Glen could see among the group with Pillets and Spek, Glen assumed that the results were leading to some very interesting conclusions.

The PADD’s basic information showed that the parasite ‘blessing’ was indeed present so far in everyone they had tested. It was also quite well received by the local body of the natives. In this case enhancing their normal strength, endurance, and mental acuities almost double or so more then an average human. They also showed signs that each person and varying levels of specific benefits. The first woman Hunter had sampled for example showed readings that gave her likely a larger jumping height or faster climbing ability. Another this one a 60 year old woman, showed her major benefit was things like wrinkles or other detoriations of age were held off much longer then normal for her genetic make up. Meaning while she was 60 years old by human standards and the natives lived no longer then an average human, her looks were more on par with someone in their mid to late 40s with regards to beauty. Water samples showed that unboiled the parasites were in the water but interestingly were inactive and so harmless to anyone among the party which would likely ingest or touch such. Why more research was needed but Spek had made notes suggesting that a hosts body’s genetics somehow triggered their living state.

While Glen waited he made an updated Captains Log entry.

Captains Log. Stardate 27052023. =/\= Once I have the full results and analysis of water and blood samples, then I need to go and speak with the Village Elders. I want to go there and get this concluded quickly, because the most interesting thing now, appears to be the ancient structure in another different system that the Merri just discovered, and which sent the comet here. We will certainly want to visit that artifact. However, we should do whatever we can for these people first, be that making their mines safe, improving their crop yields and food security, or giving them a clean water supply. Their society is still primitive, and their worship of Va will affect their macroeconomic outcomes of future economic growth. However, if their mines here do contain unfractured and isotropic Dilithium crystals then this planet will become an important resource for Starfleet, and we need to get to the bottom of the reasons for the Klingon retreat which are still uncertain. =/\=

“Can someone brief me on the results of the testing of water and blood samples, please?” Glen asked. “Any surprises there? Does it confirm what we already suspected?”

Verity silently review the results, and when the Captain asked for a high level synopsis she began, “Well, sir, according to the data from the blood samples, the parasite seems to be relatively harmless. It is showing remarkable effects as far as tissue regeneration, age defying properties, and improved muscle enhancement. Furthermore it seems to be activated by each individual’s unique DNA sequence.”
Verity could not understand how this organism could have adapted as it had. “I wonder if this is some type of experiment left her by the Klingons upon their occupation of the planet. Maybe their way of making the laborers more efficient?”

’’ I highly doubt as when bridge made contact with the Klingon’s they said they knew about the bacteria but it had no effect on them. The bacteria could have taken thousands or millions of years to adapt in its present DNA .Its truly mind blowing that it can sequence its DNA to each individual ‘’ Hunter replied .He thought for a couple of seconds ‘’I suppose its not much different from how our gut bacteria works ,I’m wondering why it has not effected us since we have been down here ..maybe something in these humanoid ‘s bodies make the bacteria easier for it to adapt? ‘’.
