Main Sim - Mine

[snip]

After getting the orders from the captain about needing to go look at the mines, he went ahead and made a call on his communicator =/\=I need NE Martin and Rossi to meet me at the location of the mine, I will be sending up the coordinates in a moment. Please make sure and send some environmental masks just in case there is anything toxic discovered in the mines. =/\= Max then started to head to the location of the mine and went ahead and sent up the coordinates of the mine location to the engineering ensigns so they knew where to meet him. After a few moments of walking, Max arrived at the mine location and he saw that Martin and Rossi had beamed down to the location. He then said to them, “I am going to need some help looking over these mines and make sure everything is in order and everything is safe.” He then looked around to find someone from the mine. He walked up to the first person he saw and said, “I am Lt Mullins with Star-fleet. I have been asked to help our with anything int he mines and I would like to make sure everything is as safe as possible. Who is in charge so I can speak to them about everything going on?” He waited for a response from the miner. This was going to be a new experience for Mullins. He had never been in a mine before, other than in a simulation in the holodeck. He had done some studying of mines but not a whole lot. He could learn a decent amount of stuff and hopefully can help with the items needed based on engineering, which he knew. He was excited about this very different experience.

The gruff looking native accompanied by three others with metal tipped spears just grunted non-committal at Mullins words. Thankfully the UT had picked up a better handle on their language. Pointing to a heavily worked area dug out by hand labor and machinery to a hole in the ground, =/\= Work crews down there, follow the metal path to the bottom, runner came ahead to tell mine boss of you coming. She handle you from here..” he said spitting a grey-red wad of phlegm to the side on the ground before rubbing it into the ground roughly with his boot.

Max was surprised with the humanoids with spears. Seemed like some ancient technology for the group of people. He had seen many history books which spoke of spears and it was so far back in Earth history. It was very surprising to see them in person being used as weapons. He was very happy that the UT was able to better understand their language. He would have been lost without it, especially not being a language expert himself and not having someone on the team who could help out with it. Max was always impressed with the technology behind the UT and how they worked and how spectacular they were with languages. He went ahead and motioned to the two engineering ensigns and continued to follow down the metal path. After a few minutes of walking, the path flatted out. He believed he was at the bottom. He took a quick look around to see all the activity of the mine. He was curious of which humanoid was the boss. Maybe the boss could find the Star-fleet officers due to the significant difference of dress. He waited a few moments to see if the boss would make herself known. While waiting, Max started doing a scan just to see what sort of things might be mined down here. He never knew what might be in the caves worth wild to mine.

Getting onto the ground floor of the main dug out mine a few rough inquiries had him led to a rectangular metal shack repurposed from some klingon cargo container. Heading inside he found a gruff looking and well muscled woman stand behind what might pass for a crude desk looking over something like a map with pins in it. On the left wall was another large board with pinned paper in the local language of the locals which he couldn’t read giving who knows what information. He did notice though that the woman had a smaller version of a Klingon dagger on her belt. Probably something gifted to her from their ‘divine agents’ for loyal service or running the mine in some way for productions or something like that. Splitting to the side the gruff woman spoke in an accented language of Klingon which the UT had an easier time translating. =/\= You FedDoomers come down here after His divine agents returned to His embrace. Here to pick over our dying bodies like some scavengers. I have been told why you are here and your claims by runners. I must say I am not impressed. You may look like us some, but your statures are weaker then us.=/\= She said glowering with an intense gaze at Max.

After a moment she spat again to the side this time into a tin pot nearby. =/\= But fine the Elders say you are here to help, fine. You get to help make our mine safer. What do you need for that?=/\= She said.
