Stanley had heard the rumor. The entire ship had by now. The story of Joe Milligan. The man whose love of Irish whiskey and fighting existed in equal parts inside the man. The fellow who had, it was said in his record, punched a rather large green Orion male because he could. The Orion male it seemed had a friend with him and by the time the fighting was done most of the bar they were in was destroyed and none of the people fighting had fared much better. It was this kind of person who had been ambushed by a four-foot tall, little girl. Stanley had to smile thinking about it.

Entering sick bay, he immediately looked around for Cross or Hunter before approaching the little girl. Aside from seeing the ferocious beast which had taken down Joe he was more than anything wanting to interact with the little one. It was one of the things he had had extra training for from Star-Fleet.

The child was mesmerized with the diagnostic wand Cross gave her ,on finding the science dept wanted blood from her the doctor slapped her forehead then in come Wong ‘’ Stanley hope you can keep Boo still I need to take some blood ,this kid is quiet strong for her age so be on your guard’’ she advised the psychiatrist ‘’Wonder if the rest of them are as strong too ‘’ Cross uttered more to herself then to anyone else.

“Has anyone tried being nice to her?” Stanley asked with all seriousness. He reached into a pocket and removed a small bell. As soon as the girl looked in Stanley’s direction he smiled broadly and showed her the little silver bell. He put it by his ear and rang it. If nothing else all this would help capture the girl’s attention while Cross did her work. “You like that?” he asked the girl. He knew of course that she probably didn’t understand him but a friendly voice showing you a pretty was pretty much the same anywhere. It would raise one’s curiosity at least which was always better than raw violence and anger.

Cross looked a Stan as if he had sprouted a pair of antennas ‘’You nuts,we have been trying to be nice since the Cmdr brought her on the ship,she has been cleaned ,someone even made her hair ‘’at this point the doctor looked down,two small ponytails at the top of her head ‘’We have given her food, a glass of milk and by the way she understand that the word ‘Boo’ is our way to get her attention’‘.

As he took out the silver bell Cross looked on wondering how she would react.

After what seemed like a life time Cross rolled her eyes ‘’Stanley you might as well throw that bell of yours away and claim defeat ‘’then she hit on an idea ‘’Why don’t you get that transmitter of yours out and call Pashi ,a science officer who told me she was a linguistic eh?’‘.

Maybe she’ll have better luck at this devil .
