Isolation nursing is carried out by placing the patient in a single room or side room. Barrier nursing – this occurs when a patient is kept in a bay and extra precautions are implemented to prevent spread of the any germs.

The nursing officer took Joe to an isolated cubicle ,she pointed to a gown ‘’Maybe you would want to wear it and hide that boxer shorts with pink hearts ‘’ this was followed by a giggle ‘’Please Cmdr you are not allowed out of this cubicle for any reason until the doctors treat your infected ear, since we have no idea what kind of bacteria managed to piggy back inside your ear ‘’.

‘’Oh by the way which doctor would you prefer, Cross who’s been praying to the Lords of the universe or Hunter who happens to be in a bad mood?’‘.

Joe took a short time before deciding. “Well, I’m sure Cross is busy making over the girl and if Hunter is in a bad mood, it means he’s just his usual self and probably needs something to do anyway so give me Hunter.”

It did not take long for Hunter to appear, getting the trolley with the medical instruments inside the cubicle the doctor put on a pair of disposable gloves ,then turned to Joe. The small smile everyone had gotten use too had been gone for quite some time ,instead the blue of his eyes were now much like a cold wave .

The male doctor addressed Joe with a nod followed by ‘’Cmdr’‘picking the tricoder Hunter started to scan ,not just his ears but Joe’s entire body. Checking the Padd he now picked the otoscope a specialized instrument to examine an ear. The otoscope allowed the physician to not only magnify the small areas of the ear but it also provides light for the areas that are to be viewed.

Hunter first checked the ear that was not infected, turning back to the trolley and picking up a swab at which he dipped in a special saline ,Hunter finally spoke ‘’Cmdr I’m going to take a swab from the ear ,then shall do the same procedure to the other ..please do not move ‘’.

He did the same with the one that was infected by the bacteria and put both swabs each one in their own container labelled BIO -Hazard ‘’These shall be send to the science dept to check if the bacteria is known to us or not, while also find what kind of antibiotics might work ‘’. As he spoke Hunter checked Joe’s finger ,noted a couple of small teeth marks ‘’So this is were Boo bit you? ‘’he remarked ‘’ The skin is still intact but I’ll clean it up ‘’ once finished the Cmdr had his finger wrapped up. Hunter got the urge to tie it with a nice big bow but then he remembered the bridge cell.

Next came the needle ‘’I’m going to pump an antibiotic intravenous ,every four hours .Do not dislodge the needle or we’ll have to insert a new one , tell me do you feel any pain in your ear?’’ he asked ‘’For now that’s all, I’m going to leave the trolley and the instruments here, someone will come and disinfect everything ,do not touch them and you are not allowed to leave the cubicle for any reason…any questions Cmdr?’‘.

OOC: reply in btw as you wish, now I do not know if its the G.M who shall take this on.So what does the tricoder pick up ? What did Hunter see when using the otoscope ?.

OOC: Crappppp this is what I get for taking an LOA for so many days! Plus then not reading all posts before replying! We will THEN say after beaming aboard and going there (with the girl who’ll be retconned having done a quick pass through there to sickbay where Cross is/was) the XO did this https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf6/merrimack/posts/196317/ happening before then carrying said screaming banshee girl to sickbay (with Cross in the other thread). From there (now with still having said ear plug as in my posted thread!) he passes the CO before then eventually coming HERE to get further checked out as said and where i’ll now also have the NE decomm doctor in my posted thread come in with the results of said sample! I’ll THEN also reply here with that and what Hunter etc will see as requested! Phew ok I think that should fix this mess I made (sorry!!) up....

Hunter came in ‘’Well Cmdr it seems you don’t have to be quarantined after all,I’ll take some blood sample, orders from the CSO and you can disappear ..I mean leave ‘’ the doctor replied .Once the sample was taken Hunter gave the Cmdr a nod and left leaving the door wide open behind him.
