It was two days later and the Merrimack arrived at the Sol system without issue, they wound up escorted by an honor guard of Red Squad cadets in system flight craft into the dock yard 19’s B series cradle. It wasn’t long after that the Merrimack crew got their R&R and those who would be presenting to the classes at the Academy beamed down to the central courtyard.

Meeting them was a young group of Red Squad cadets led by a Human Lieutenant, approaching Captain Glen with the rest of the presenter’s the Lieutenant extended a hand. “..Captain Glen, I’m Lieutenant Charles, flight lead of Red Squad I hope Gamma Squad gave you a proper honor guard escort into the system?” he asked.

“Yes, they certainly did, although totally unnecessary, but it reminded me of my days as a cadet pilot. We were never going to be happy unless we were going Warp 5 with our hair on fire…” replied John Glen.

Charles gave a pleased smile and chuckle, “..Trust me Captain that feeling still holds true for many of them. I swear one day they’re going to crash purposefully into Titan just for the thrill of it..” He said with a glance to one of the Cadets near him who shuffled his one foot. “..Isnt that right Cadet Bane?” He asked the Tellarite.

Slightly murmured, “..Maybe sir..” he said.

Turning back to Glen then, “..Well if you and your staff could go get registered at the Academy front desk with your lessons plans you’ll all be free then to partake of your R&R till your class time. Though Captain Glen you are requested to see Academy Commandant Bradbury since the previous Commandant got reassigned last minute the other day.” he said.

“Rather unusual?” asked Glen. “There’s a longer story there, no doubt?”

”..Not sure! It’s above my pay grade..” Charles said.

Glen would need to find out more about the new mystery Commandant.

”..Unless you got any other questions for me I’ll escort you all to the front desk sign in..” he said.

“Not really,” replied Glen. “I wouldn’t mind taking a look around your red Squad fighter weapons school sometime, but I wouldn’t want to cause any inconvenience.”

”..Sure stop on by if you like in your free time. I’m usually there most days teaching tactics..” he said.

Kord looked around. It was one of those rare times when he felt uncomfortable. He was never one for giving speeches and here he was expected to give a lecture to a few hundred students.

Tinga had a feeling that this assignment had been drawn up for them before her predecessor had suddenly left for Vulcan. Luckily there were times when Tinga enjoyed talking and she would just have to turn this into one of them.

Cross was seen walking towards Tinga ‘’Lt what have I missed?’’ she asked in a barley audible voice.

Cross Dr.

Tinga leaned in and spoke to the CMO.

“Just introductions and an offer of escort to be signed in etcetera etcetera.” she said quietly.

Nkosenye came up to the group, ignoring some of the looks his height inevitably drew. Looking around, he said to no one in particular “Not much has changed since I was here as a Cadet.”
