Cross left the psychiatrist in a state of great disturbance, confusion and uncertainty,she could not understand what she said or maybe did wrong for Mr Wong to say that he had never been this insulted in his life.As the doctor passed her office she stopped momentarily to look at Hunter behind the desk, the man was about to signal her to come in but something stopped him dead in his tracks .

Cross made her way to her quarter’s,after showering the female doctor put on her white bathrobe and headed towards the bed. Meanwhile the male doctor was unable to concentrate,he had this gut feeling that something was wrong with the CMO, it was the eyes, icy and unresponsive .Checking where she was, he headed to her quarters.
Pressing the chime,Cross answered by ‘’Go away’’ ,Hunter not one to give in tried for a second time ‘’Cross, its Hunter open up please’‘. This time the female doctor yelled ‘’Can’t you take no for an answer ..go away’’ she answered back while climbing on the bed.
‘’Very well’’ Hunter responded ‘’Guess I’ll have to call secu..’‘before he even finished the door swished open.

In the dim light he could see Cross lying in bed in a fetal position with her back to him.Hunter sat down at the edge ‘’Miriam what’s wrong?’’ he asked softly.He saw her wiping her face and though she had her back to him Hunter assumed she was wiping tears ‘’That psychiatrist..I trusted him and he ended up telling me he had never been this much offended!And I have no idea what I did or say,its my fault I trusted him’‘.

The male doctor put a hand on her shoulders ‘I cannot comment on that, perhaps as a middle aged man he’s more conservative’‘. With his hand still on her shoulders while rubbing his chin with the other Hunter went on ‘’Miriam I’m more concerned that you have refused my treatment,I saw the hyposprays and medication thrown in the bin why Cross why?’’ he asked ‘’You’re anemic,anorexic and missing vital vitamins’’ .Cross did not respond her face was a mask of sadness ,still the male doctor waited patiently.

Cross broke the silence ‘’Because I’m afraid,afraid that if I regain my strength I’ll end up as before, causing nothing but trouble both for the Captain and Kord’’ she stopped and turned facing Hunter ‘’You know about the inherited gene? ‘’Hunter nodded ‘’I don’t want to go through that feeling again,the need for stimulation was too much, I could not control it ‘’.
‘’Come here Miriam’’ he took her in his arms wrapping one hand around her back and looking down at her with an entirely neutral expression.
‘’There are people who own this gene often travel a lot,they particularly like challenging places, places far beyond safe areas and even recommended areas with many risks and dangers’‘.

Miriam pressed her head against his broad chest while he smelled the freshness of her scented body.

Before he got up the doctor put Cross gently back on the bed ‘’Try to get some sleep ‘’ he whispered,the last thing she saw was Hunter leaving her quarters.
