Stanley had himself finished his dinner and had checked in to see that Hunter had indeed gone to his cabin for some sleep. According to the ships computer he was indeed there. Getting more information, a quick scan of his heart and respiration showed that he was asleep. Stanley kept his word to Hunter and got dressed to go tend to sickbay. This time he dressed in his uniform. A silver-gray outfit of the medical command he was attached to. It had a gold medical emblem and a psy badge on his chest along of course with the Major emblems on his collar.

He didn’t care much for the uniform and rarely wore it. But he reasoned it might be helpful if he wore it as he was watching sickbay. Many people might refuse treatment from a man they didn’t know and was wearing loose casual clothing. When he arrived, the place was dead. He did a quick look about to get a feel for the place and see how everything was arranged. He was pleased by the efficiency and order in which things were arranged. After this he sat down in a seat near the door and turned a computer on. It wasn’t long before he had found the new novel he had been reading. ‘The Adventures of Fernando Moreno, Space Pirate.’

Lo and behold,NC Nose entered sickbay with his hand holding the left side of his head as if it was about to fall.He looked around, ready to get down behind a biobed if he happened to see that darn doctor Hunter but instead his roaming eyes fell on a guy he never saw before and gave a sigh of relief.

Straightening up and back holding his head he approached Mr Wong ‘’ Are you the doctor on call?’’ NC Nose asked his eyes wide open at the man’s uniform * Maybe Hunter was thrown off the ship and they got this new guy instead* he thought to himself ‘’Its my head,the pain…its excruciating doctor’’ he whined .

Stanley was right in the middle of a fight scene where a beautiful Andromedin maiden had beaten off the attack of thirty Denebulan fire fiends. He looked up then when he heard NC nose. He looked at the man and rose taking the man’s arm and leading him to the bio-bed. Patting the bed Doctor Wong asked the man, “Have you had a trauma to your head? A bump against something? A fall?”

The Ensign sat on the biobed shaking his head from side to side ‘’No…no doctor I suffer from sever headaches and all the medication prescribed by doctors have done little to elevate the pain ‘’ he groaned ‘’The lights hurt my eyes and I keep seeing these white flashes ‘’ the crew man thought of what else he could say to this new doctor ‘’I’m at the end of my tethers doctor for the pain is unbearable ‘’.

He hoped that by the time he’ll be discharged his co -workers would have finishing cleaning the allocated corridors. This had to be his lucky day with no sight of that beast called Hunter around.

NC Ensign Nose.

“Ah I see,” Stanley said in a mild voice as searched the readouts from the biobed. Stanley then turned and walking across the room he opened up a cabinet and searched inside for a moment. There was a lot of moving things about. Different bottles and containers and of course the ever-popular vials. Stanley came back with a hypo spray loaded to the max.

Thomas raised himself by resting on his elbows and stretched his neck as far as he possible could, only to slightly see what the doctor was doing.

He spoke to the ensign as he prepared to give him a shot. “First off as soon as you leave sickbay, I need you to begin hydrating. Since I have no record of anything out of the usual for you, I am preparing you a little something to basically mask the pain and possibly help the condition. ” He checked the hypo one more time and said, “I’m giving your system a little boost of magnesium and a vitamin B complex. He gave the Ensign his shot, turned as if to leave but came back with another hypo. Taking the man’s arm again he said, “You show a low amount of Coenzyme Q10 in your system so I will give you a boost there as well. Also in her is a small sedative.” .

The Ensign smiled and made a mental note to check what the side effects of the Q10 where.

Replacing all his equipment after giving the Ensign his shot Stanley said,” As I told you I want you to star hydrating yourself. Drink nothing but water and lots of it. You are excused from duty for the next six hours. If you continue to have symptoms, we may have to look at putting you on a special diet. Now if there are no questions You need to go to your quarters and get some rest.” Stanley smiled broadly at the man and asked, “Do you have any questions?”

‘’No doctor ,no questions I’ll do as you said drink plenty of water and rest ‘’ he got up from the biobed You bet I’m going to rest Thomas thought ‘’Thanks a lot doctor Wong’’ then turned around to exit sickbay.

Stanley chuckled as the Ensign left. He then updated the patient file for Hunter and Cross as he wrote,” Patient complained of severe headache. Didn’t seem to be clear on symptoms. Patient gave some symptoms of a common migraine without describing other more common ones. I suspect that while the patient might have had a headache, he might have been using it to get out of work. ” Stanley then typed in all the instructions and medications he had given him and then typed out recommendations. “I recommend that if patient appears again with similar symptoms that the patient get confinement to sickbay. Complete neurological study with patient in place. Complete bloodwork study. Chemical workup with special attention paid to Dopamine, Serotonin, Oxytocin, Glutamates, and Norepinephrine.”
Stanley signed off on the report and smiled as he thought of the man getting to lie on a bio bed for three days as he was poked and prodded. he would either be cured or he would become a better worker one.

The nursing officer approached the doctor once Thomas left ‘’ So what was wrong with him this time ?’’ she asked ‘’Oh sorry how impolite of me, I’m Kate the nursing officer ‘’ she extended her hand while scrutinizing his strange attire.

Who the hell is this guy Kate thought for the last thing she wanted was to have some kind of imposter ,it happened once though he was a security from star fleet yet the man was working as an espionage with their enemies by gathering information.

Stanley turned then to see the nurse. He frowned at first wondering where she had come from. He had been through the whole of the sickbay area when he was familiarizing himself with the place. Stanley smiled then and took the proffered hand shaking it. “Hello there! I’m Doctor Stanley Wong at your service Kate. ” Stanley made himself a bit more comfortable on the stool at which he was sitting in front of the worktable as he answered Kate’s question.

“I suspect that the man is suffering from nothing. He may be suffering from a stress of some kind. There have been studies recently about the effects of deep space travel. Even in such lovely environments such as this ship there are sometimes people who become stressed by some of the smallest of things. Being able to take a walk beneath a blue sky or lack of the color green for instance. ” Stanley laughed at himself and the way he had started to chatter.” I’m sorry I talk too much. That man I suspect though is just trying to slip out of his duties. And if something is wrong with him, we will certainly find out what it is on his next visit!”
