As the trio were led back down a hallway from where the nurse had come from. They did pass by through a double glass hallway where they could see on a lower level the rest of the away team leaving a classroom led by Sal. The nurse finally after a short walk passed through a swing inwards door to the nursing station. It was a far cry from the sickbay on the Merrimack of course. But it could hold upwards of six patients based on the cot like beds.

To their left was a pair of work desks for the nurse and presumably someone else, though it was currently empty. On top of each station was a flat panel monitor with a simple keyboard interface and a paper printer nearby. Cabinets attached to the wall and floor were also in evidence.

In front and to their right was the six cots, all had the capacity to have a curtain drawn around for privacy. The equipment was primitive compared to what Cross used, but baring some minor differences, looks, and such she could see that much of it was on par with what Earth Starfleet used not long after First Contact with the Vulcans and up to the 2130s or so. Simple thin needle injectors, vials for medicine, scanners for different bio readings etc. All were on hand. She might reflect some of it was maybe a bit overkill for a school facility for children aged 5-16 years of age. But looking over some of the written instructions it seemed as the nurse went on to explain that in an emergency the nursing stations like this could function as emergency triage stations or isolation rooms from the rest of the habitat. Though as she went on she said such had not had to be done for well on 20 years, the last of which was a small scale infection which hit the habitat a bit harder due to a passing trade ship having brought a foreign disease that their life support purification was not able to filter when they came aboard through the air lock. This could be of interest to Cross for more details. Having a odorless sightless gas that acted as a general purification agent for the habitat was something that Starfleet vessels did not have really on such a large scale.

For Lance looking around, he could see it was just a simple nursing station for the school, nothing untoward seemed out of place. It seems that these folks on the habitat took great pains to make their environment self sufficient and self contained as much as possible. As well as providing everyone and everything with a purpose and contributing means for the entire community.

Cross looked around not there was any thing of interest to see, after all the bag she brought with her held more or less the same medical equipment, the ones that were on display in sickbay. The doctor felt conscience -stricken that there was no medical tricorder knowing how much of a diagnostic important tool it would be.
She mentioned nothing but made a mental note to bring the subject up with either the Captain or Cmdr.

‘’Really there is a life support purification on the Habitat to filter any pathogens through the air lock ?’’ Cross could not help but be amazed. At this point she was wondering who was going to truly benefit from this mission!....adding another mental note.

”..Of course! Many of our planets we brought with us from our former home. But over time we found ways to crosspollinate them with local in system types, as well as make simple genetic alterations for making them more suited to our life here on the habitat. We find them quite effective at screening out foreign agents that might effect us usually..” She said.

‘’Nurse do you know what kind of microorganisms had made it through the filters?’’ Cross asked with a desire for knowledge .

Being in there with the old medical tools made him nervous. He didn’t like hospitals or medical centers. Lance shivered as he saw the old tools.

Cross was much more interested about the suppose microorganism that made its way through the filters ‘’There must be something in your medical archives about it’’ she told the nurse ‘’The reservoir, mode of transmission ,incubation period, symptoms and cure if it was found’‘.

The doctor knew were the rest of the team was and knowing what the young nurse would say ,she suggested to ask Sal.

”..One moment, let me query our medical database records..” The nurse said politely, moving over to one of the keyboards, and began to carefully type in a sequence of commands in the local dialect and letters to get the computer to do what she wanted. After a moment a graphical interface came up and she typed in another series of commands. Looking up she said, “..This will just take a moment for a print out to come through..” she said.

About ten seconds later the nearby paper printer hummed to life and it began to spin out a paper read out. The nurse rolled over to the printer pulling out the last of the paper. “..Here you go Doctor Cross.” She said. “..The microorganism was not filtered because as we later found out it had been artificially created by the traders who passed through. They caught it from another source that didn’t effect them. After we isolated the make up of the organism we were able in time to not only cure it and develop a vaccine for future events, but also then selectively breed our filtration plants to identify and contain or eliminate such in the future. It is not a perfect system of course, but it has a fairly high success rate for our needs, and unlike a technological process does not use up our power or other resources, indeed it provides in normal times more oxygen and such filtration for us…” She said.

With papers in hand Cross was not just delighted but appreciative ‘’ Oh thank you nurse ‘’ the doctor smiled withholding herself from hugging Valar ‘’Could I ask one last thing? Would you be kind enough to give me just one of your vaccine for future study at our science dept?’’ .
What Cross asked was a simple vaccine and she saw no harm in asking for one.

At this time Lance felt his headache coming back with force. He started to rub his Temple on the right side of his head. He had no choice he had to lower the input for his eye. When he gets back to the ship he will get it checked out.

Lt. Lance Del Wolf (COS)

The female doctor saw Lance rubbing his temple ‘’Lance is the pain back? ‘’ she asked concerned ‘’Hunter threw some strong analgesia in my bag, it can at least offer some relief until we get back ‘’ it was the only solution she could offer for now.

Cross CMO.

Lance closed his left eye “ I needed to get this thing adjusted. And yes anything to kill the pain” he said as he took a set. Lance hoped his body was not rejecting the implant.
