OOC: So forgive me Dave, just curious on your above reply here, what makes you/Glen think Sal or Dol were lying? I had not meant to portray that so if I did I apologize and I don’t necessarily wish for you or the ship to go down the wrong beaten path unless you got a good reason based on what I said. So if you could please clarify you/Glen felt that way I would appreciate thanks!

OOC: I misunderstood you then, sorry. I got the impression from the earlier post that the nebula was recent and dissipating in 17 more years. So, it couldn’t be 600 years old. Sal didn’t seem very convincing or genuine (sorry because that might be just your writing). Also, Dr Cross seems convinced it’s a conspiracy, and I think you sometimes throw Miriam titbits of information on Discord.

It isn’t a big problem. Glen is only human and can get decisions wrong. If we make better scans of the nebula then they should tally with what Sal said and Glen will have to admit he was wrong.

Oh! and I still don’t know what to do next. I thought my crew might help me with that?

OOC: Its all good Dave! If you do have long range scans check the nebula again or send a probe i would post it would confirm what Sal is saying. As for feeding Miriam info? I sometimes do when they ask but I have not done that in any recent period of time. As for Sal not being open well thats more due to the cultural side of things, how they talk is obviously different then say Humans. Which was what I was going for. So partly then thats again my mistake! As for what to do next, that is a bit up to you all. You could request to return the child, with a bit of cultural information exchange etc, which is the point of their ‘seed pods’ as Dol said though it would then be expected that the child is returned to a family in Federation space to be raised. You could do the above but leave him with the habitat of course too. In a way this sim is a bit open ended on purpose, I wanted to do more free form approach with how you guys reacted, sorta like how things started on a positive spin with the Bolay but then due to player choices totally went sideways. On one hand I hope this will let Glen and company redeem themselves in the eyes of the Fleet as you’ve no doubt hinted at in some other posts. I would also point out that though Dol and his habitat are obviously pre-warp in the technical sense, they are aware of outside forces in this region and have had contact spanning at least 600 years local time. Plus as we have seen many times in Trek especially TOS Kirk and company have often went down to chat up the locals even when they weren’t warp capable. In this case as you also pointed out Dol’s people may or not be worth integrating into the Federation, or appropriate at this time for it. But you haven’t even tried to approach the idea or learn more about them in depth. So I might suggest considering 1) What you want to do with this child first off, 2) What if anything you want to learn about from Dol and his people and in turn they learn about the Federation in more detail, 3) Anything else you want to learn or exchange in relation to this new region of space. I hope this helps out!
