Glen was missing the Captain’s chair.

Dismissing the landing party in the Transporter Room, Glen went directly to the Bridge.

“Ensign Kahuna, status report please,” Glen asked, “…and what news from the team away at the second Sleeper Ship?”

Kahuna made way for Captain Glen to sit in the chair. “Everything operating within normal parameters, Sir! No problems have been noted. There has been no news from the second sleeper ship but I’ve asked Inola to keep an open channel with them. And we are receiving a whole stack of good wishes from the planet. Whatever you did down there was appreciated and you made some friends.”

“Very good,” replied Glen. “You are relieved and I’ll add these Bridge hours to your record as soon as possible. Commander Kord is leaving us, so for the moment I’ll be relying on you as my personal assistant until I appoint a new XO.”

Hal also went to the bridge. He took the tactical station, where he began to run standard diagnostics on the weapons and defensive systems.

“It sure feels good to be back home,” he remarked to nobody in particular.

“I’d have liked to have achieved a little more, Hal” Glen replied to Hal, “but I think we did good. Find out what’s holding up the team on the sleeper ship for me. I had expected that to be a quick rescue and salvage mission.”
